Lucas took on a project to fit a wood-burning stove, including full removal of the old hearth and mantle and building a new heart, fire-surround and mantle. He''s a fantastic, artistic and adaptable artisan who listened to our needs and wants, was very flexible in sourcing and helping us source clever and unique materials, and gave excellent, frank and carefully thought out advice and guidance on the design of the project. Lucas also removed and replaced an old roof section on our vestibule. Again he was clever and thoughtful with his designs and plans to minimise work whilst maximising fuctionality and a very nice finish.

"Lucas and his team were a great force of nature to have in the house for a week while work on removing and building a new hearth, fitting a wood-burning stove, and replacement of a small section of adjoining roof was undertaken. Lucas has a brilliant "can-do" attitude, was great about listening to our ideas and visualisations for the job, and for the whole room in which it was set, and about using and re-using materials we had sourced ourselves to get the perfect finish. He's fantastically adaptable, and great if you have a strong vision or idea for the job. He quickly understood our plans, was able to suggest a few tweaks and material choices which really suited the project, and excellent about keeping us informed of how, when and where materials were being sourced and delivered, and the relevant time-scales. It's fun to watch him work, and his team are great if you like to get involved with your project, fantastic at communicating what's going on, which is useful in an evolving project/job or one interlinked with other bits of renovation (as ours was). Lucas himself is an absolute artist with masonry and stone-work, and we are now genuinely trying to find other stone-work jobs for him around our home, as his work is beautiful enough to be the centre-piece of any room or garden.
Lucas and his team were really good and flexible about bolting a few small jobs onto the main one as they arose, again great at communicating the state of of play with each aspects of the project, and happy to leave certain finishing aspects up to me, as fitted the timescale of the room renovation, so overall perfectly accommodating.
Excellent and entertaining banter on the coffee breaks (which were short - these boys WORK HARD), and overall great people to have in the house, helping to make a disruptive renovation fun and exciting.
I can't recommend Lucas and his team enough, and honestly struggle to think of a job they wouldn't do beautifully and for great value for money."

His works involved rebuilding a chimney, installation of a log burner, fixing the damp issues with tanking etc fully insulating the walls reboarding and plastering.

"Lucas and his team were professional at all times from quote to completion. This wasn’t the easiest of jobs with a great deal of unforeseen problems during the renovation. Yes there were extras added to the final bill but it was quoted to me first and was very fair.

There was a little snagging to do which you would expect on such a big project but was quickly done and to a high standard.
Yes it might have been nice to see them in corporate uniforms/ workwear. But when all said and done for a small company this would have been an extra unseen on your bill which I don’t feel is necessary. So please don’t judge a book by its cover. They were very hard working dedicated and very competitive.
Would definitely use his company again.

Repair of a broken external sewage pipe. Uplifting & removal broken concrete, uncovering the channel, removal of sewage waste, sand, damaged clay pipe, smashed 90-degree clay connection. Installation and connection of new drainage pipe and elbow, covering pipe with clean gravel and sand, new concreate. Concreate trench and hole repairing.

Repair and renovate damaged wooden balcony which is 3m off the ground and 4.5m x 1.2 m with railings and a fascia surround. All the old wooden fascias and decking slats were removed. All paint was removed from the supporting joists beneath the deck. The decking joists were strengthened. All supporting joists were treated with Woodstain preservative. The metal railings were repaired and painted. New bolts were provided to secure the railings to the brick wall. New synthetic decking boards were fitted. New top and lower and side wooden fascia boards were fitted and stained/treated with Woodstain. A new security light was fitted. Also - Repoint and cement a small area of boundary stone wall. (A minor task).

"Lucas promptly arranged a meeting to discuss our needs. Lucas is polite, enthusiastic and provided lots of good input. He communicates well and understood our requirements. An estimate followed quickly and the work was commenced within a week. Lucas & Maciek worked continuously and hard when they were on site and got down to work immediately. It became apparent that unfortunately none of the old wooden decking planks and fascias could be reused, that the supporting joists would benefit from strengthening and that the metal railings needed attention. First lesson – Lucas does not cut corners and the project expanded. It did mean that the total project took closer to 80 man hours than the original 60 hours budgeted. Also extra materials were required and the final total bill exceeded the original budget by 60%. However this was for the unforeseen work. Lucas did a great job and we are pleased with the result. Lucas is a complete gentleman, a good communicator, great to work with and likes to provide his customers with good final product.
(PS The stone wall looks lovely).

Following water damage to an internal conservatory wall we asked Lucas and his team to remove said wall, treat underlying timbers, fit new wall as well as re-sealing all internal and external joins within our conservatory. This involved dealing with light fittings as well as tapering and painting the finished wall. We also had the step to the patio re-laid and re-pointed at the same time.

"Given some complications with our insurers and plumbers Lucas was very patient with us re. arranging times to come out and quote and then start the work.

Communicated at every stage re. what was required, how it would be done and how long it would take. There was some delays due to the poor weather conditions and there impact on the site and the guys' vehicle, but Lucas was in touch quickly to keep us updated.

Excellent quality of work delivered and would not hesitate to use Lucas and his team again."

Removal of a load bearing wall and installing a steel beam. Installing a new Stairs Banister. Installing three new Velux''s Windows. Skimming and finishing up jobs.

"Lucas and his team is very friendly and personable. The job started with a very limited scope which later got extended to include a number of other jobs. The team is very hard working and deliver excellent quality of work. I was consulted throughout the job to ensure all the critical decisions were explained before the progressed the job further.

Although the job a lot longer to finish than initially expected, part of the delay was due to disruption caused by COVID, yet we are really happy with the final finish.

I would highly recommend Lucas to anyone for similar jobs. :-)

"Lucas has done work for me before and we had discussed the option of resurfacing a small brick retaining wall in local stone. In addition the garden walls needed repointed and we decided to remove some other brick walls and repoint the patio as the work progressed.

The work has been done beautifully and the resurfaced wall has completely transformed the garden. The local stone is very appropriate.
