Reputations are not built overnight
In Referenceline's view, this track record is more important than the ratings. Don't be impressed by a few old reviews which may not be representative.  Look for firms with a commitment to asking for feedback - good or bad - from their customers.  We recommend that you look for a track record of ratings and reviews in at least 9 of the last 12 months and that you should not be too concerned about an isolated negative review.  Ask the firm for their side of the story.

Code of Practice
Businesses have a legal responsibility to treat you fairly, but it's often hard to know what questions to ask or what standards to expect.  They are the experts and you should be able to rely on them to help you make decisions.  These questions explain the commitments that this business has made to follow a code of practice and they will help you understand what you have a right to expect.

You can see how many customers have said "Yes" in answer to each question, but please don't expect 100% in every case.  Nobody's perfect and some customers may not be completely sure about the answer.  It's more important that you understand these questions and discuss them with the business so that you both agree what good service means for you.  A responsible business will be happy to explain the details to you and it's always better to clarify these points upfront to avoid misunderstandings later on.

3 bed house in Cheltenham.

"This is the first time I have used Andrew Lettings in Cheltenham and the service I received was exceptional. From the initial booking of the viewing/viewing with Vicky and the signing of agreement with Emma, I can not fault the service. My family and I were in a position of awaiting an exchange date on our Property. We viewed our rental property in good time and loved it from the minute we stepped in the door. Vicky was so polite and helpful which enhanced our view of the property. We then encountered about a 10 day period of waiting to exchange. During this time Vicky and Emma kept in touch with me daily to keep me updated with the position on the property. This was much appreciated as I was keen not to miss out on this Property. They also contacted the Landlord to let them know that we wanted the property but it was just a case of waiting for the exchange date. This dragged on and on. The Landlord was happy to accept us as tenants but at this point the property was still on the market. Another person then viewed the property and made an offer to take it. At this point Vicky/Emma discussed with the landlord again. The landlord still wanting to accept us as tenants as we wanted a longer rental period and could move straight away. I feel if it wasn't for Vicky and Emma's help, we would have missed out on the property. Exchange finally happened and then we were passed on to Yvette to finalise the rental agreement. Again the service received from Yvette was second to none. My overall experience of using Andrews was one I will remember and I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends. The ladies were so helpful and went through my stress with me whilst waiting to exchange. You should be very proud of your team in Cheltenham. Thanks for giving me and my family a lovely home we can enjoy."

2 bed Victorian terrace in Cheltenham

"Generally they manage it well, but their overall costs are expensive. Extras - both at the initial phase and during the tenancy - add up. Some of these are fixed costs, so might be more attractive on a higher value rental. They're good, but not good value for money - I'd be hesitant to recommend them for that reason."
