"I was extremely dissatisfied with the service. We were promised the property would be advertised on Rightmove but when we checked it wasn't in there. They didn't appear to actively seek buyers just wait for enquiries to come in. They kept telling us to drop the price yet identical properties were selling with other agents for a lot more. Advised us to accept very low offers. It was only when I enquiried about marketing with another agent that buyers seemed to find out about the property from the other agent. I felt I had no option but to market with THOMAS Rawson as they had placed the tenant, I'm not sure whether I could have marketed with another agent while tenant still in situ. They were useless as letting agents too - I had to chase repairs tenants were contacting me to ask about. The property was filthy & stank & they did nothing about it. The seemed to make the process over complicated and talked at great length trying to bully us into doing whatever was easiest for them. They gave potential buyers inaccurate information about what was included in the sale despite us putting details in writing."
 
 
 
   Business Reply:

We are very surprised at this review. It is unfortunate that the client did not follow our emailed advice to consider further renting because, as we said, “I believe there will be a better time to sell”.

Nevertheless we generated 34 accompanied viewings from buyers all in a strong position to proceed. The client's response at the time, also in an email was “Thank you kindly for negotiating a price of £163,000 for Pimpern Close, It's good news that the buyers are in a strong position”.

The inspections prior to and following the tenancy were carried out by an Independent National Approved Company (on this occasion 16 pages with photographs). The only deduction from the tenants deposit that was deemed necessary by them was £70 for minor cleaning following over 2 years of renting with no late payments of rent or problems to speak of.

The solicitor acting complimented the job we had done as we managed to coincide the sale completion close to the end of the tenancy avoiding an extended empty period.

"The property was rented for 18 months. Agent found really good tenants and rent arrived promptly every month. Any problems tenants had were sorted out straight away by the agent. When the tenants left, agent then re-advertised the property for sale and 2 sets of buyers were shown around and one set put in offer.
