"The car was handing like a bag of nails! And sounding lumpy and rough! Stuart sorted all the problems out superbly. The engine sounds so very smooth and she handles like a dream! I was kept informed every step of the way and everything was patiently explained! A most excellent job done with such craftsman ship! Great value too! My XK150 is delighted! "

Full service of braking system on 1969 E-Type Jaguar, involved replacement of all and new master cylinder. As part of this a new (second hand) exhaust was fitted with new manifold. Engine cutting out problem was also solved.

"Easily the most expensive repair work I have ever had done on any car however I was left feeling very happy with the quality of the work and the service. I believed that this would not need to be re-done in my lifetime and because corners were not cut I had good value for money. Stuart will give you an honest opinion which is refreshing."

Repair of damage to paintwork on bonnet plus some small part spots on underside. Repair of leaking heater valve. Replacement of door hinge.

"I have used Rectory Classics regularly since my E Type was restored by then in 1993. The quality of the work and good of service is unparalleled. They are always very professional. Not the cheapest but I think you have to pay for it."

Work on Jaguar 1958 x K150 D/H. Twisted O/S door, check all front suspension joints & bearings, wheel alignments, angles etc. Fit heavier antiroll bar. Stewart Playfords early training was as a tool maker-this fact shines thro' his approach to motor engineering-which is therefore precise & accurate. He found all suspension angles had been inaccurately set up, on this a fully ground up restored car. A note was given to me of these figures & his corrected ones. This re-engineered suspension joints & his method of securing same is an engineers delight. He also found-without being asked-a fault water temp gauge-badly over reading-that had caused other engineers a fruitless effort in overall.

"He is also a ‘straight shooter’ – fully discussing his findings & suggesting a visit to see them before undertaking any correction. All very encouraging in this whole arena of poor motor engineering that has too many ‘con men’ in it. I would thoroughly entertain & recommend him to anyone to anything from full fraud up restoration (& I’ve seen his work at this level) – to servicing & updating specifications."

Complete restoration of Alvis to 21 drophead. Starting with new chassis in my opinion this hand built car by Parke. Words is better and prettier than when it left the Coventry factory when it was new.

"My Alvis TD21 was previously "restored". The work was appalling. Rectory Classics stripped the car completely. New Classic etc. The quality of work and service was excellent. The cost was a little on the high side. But considering the amount of work involved this could be justified. Rectory Classics are among truly professional craftsmen."
