You can't please everybody all of the time:
- Even the most-loved firms, books and cars have their critics (see the panel) and it's the same with businesses.
- Most firms will admit to the occasional mistake but they also face difficult customers, with unreasonable complaints that can't be resolved.
- Referenceline holds each complaint (usually for 20 days) to give the firm a chance to respond.
- Remarkably, only about 3% of firms ask us to stop publishing their feedback (see all or nothing), even if they don't agree with what the customer is saying.
- We think it's very impressive that firms will allow us to do this and we hope you agree.
Don't expect firms to be 100% recommended or 10/10 for Satisfaction. Ask them for their side of the story about any forms with low ratings.

Favourites have their critics, too:
Indiana Jones
- Interruptions in the soundtrack, perhaps as anti-piracy measure.
- The plot: "… it's almost unfathomable that this hoary mishmash is the best that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg could cough up."
Harry Potter
- The focus on wizardry, leading to the books being banned in some schools.
- The choice of Daniel Radcliffe for the lead role of Harry in the films.
Lexus
- Wind noise
- Noisy brakes
- Seat belts failing to retract
