- Sales Agents. These agents undertake to follow the Code of Practice for Residential Estate Agents, which has been approved by the Office of Fair Trading. Referenceline conducts customer satisfaction surveys of OEA members that have signed up for this Code. Over 21,000 buyers and sellers have replied to this survey since 2003 and 90% say they recommend their agent.
- Lettings Agents. These agents undertake to follow the Code of Practice for Letting Agents. Referenceline does not survey lettings activity.
Members of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and the Guild of Professional Estate Agents (GPEA) have agreed to sign up to the OEA Codes of Practice, and some members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) have also joined the OEA.
