moving house to the isle of man from the uk during covid!!

"We had to move from the UK to the isle of man during the covid 19 crisis.

We had originally organised Callisters to move us but when the borders closed this proved impossible.. however, thanks to Rob and the team, they managed to help us get our belonings from storage only a few weeks after we arrived here.. they were great. A really friendly and professional team who literally moved heaven and earth to get our belongings to our house.. the removals guys were great.. professional and quick, but careful!! I dont think i will ever use a different company again!! Thanks guys"

Uk to Isle of Man relocation. Load 1 - taking all the basics to set up house and accommodate small children to be comfy.

"A great company who went and will go over and above to make a relocation from UK to Isle of Man as smooth as possible. They couldn’t have been more accommodating or helpful, and with several small children it made the world of difference to our overall experience and memories of moving. The guys were punctual, affable, well presented, and again, couldn’t have done more. They got on with the job at hand swiftly and were mindful of time constraints, kids and specific pieces.

House move to an apartment, all within Ramsey.

"Callister Removal's provided an excellent service in a recent house move in Ramsey. The arrangements were easily made over the phone and the team were very helpful in the planning of our house move. On the day the team arrived on time and assisted perfectly in the loading and unloading with great care, a good sense of humour and done in a way that did not rush us in leaving our old house and moving into our new house. The removal was from Merseyside to the Isle of Man and the entire move ran like clockwork from start to finish. The men who moved my furniture to the removal van on Merseyside and brought it over to the island couldn’t have been more courteous and helpful. The same can be said of the men who moved my furniture into my new home on the island. Because the previous owners of my new home messed me about by not vacating the property when they should Callisters very kindly deferred my moving in date at no extra expense for which I was extremely grateful. I cannot recommend them highly enough they are a credit to their industry

"The move from start to finish was first class, everyone I spoke to on the phone or exchanged emails with were extremely courteous and helpful. The removal van arrived in the afternoon prior to the removal date which had been pre arranged and was loaded as much as possible. It was continued bright and early the following morning, upon completion the van was driven to the docks for transportation from Heysham to the Isle of Man. The gentlemen who loaded the van were very helpful and professional even explaining they had extra boxes and tape if needed. They took great care in making sure everything was packed perfectly to avoid any possible damage. The previous owners of the property I was moving into really messed me about saying they could not be able to vacate at the previously arranged time so Callisters very kindly suggested they keep the van and contents safely in their lock up overnight at no extra cost to me and defer moving in until the following morning. They arrived very early the following day and I cannot fault the service I received everything was unpacked with the greatest of care and nothing was too much trouble. They made what is normally a very stressful time a pleasure and I would recommend Callisters Removals of Balthane Industrial Estate Isle of Man to anyone I doubt very much that their service could be bettered."

We were recommended to use Callisters International Removals by friends who had used their services previously. They were all very happy with The Company’s work. We moved home to the U.K. from the Isle of Man in April 2018.

"We were provided with a dedicated removal vehicle and most helpful team of employees who arrived on time, as promised.
Their team of three worked quickly and efficiently to clear all items being removed.
Some items were particularly delicate and required very careful handling.
They even made those items more secure before loading them for transport.
Absolutely nothing was broken or damaged, by the wonderful team, either on departure, during transit or on arrival at our property in the South of England.
We can’t thank them enough for making the whole experience for ourselves so smooth and easy. All very good, see our notes above."

Move from 3 bed 3storey house to 3 bed bungalow

"I have used Callisters several times already including a move abroad and I would not use anyone else. The staff are really professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, they disassembled the beds and my reclining sofa and reassembled it all at the other end, my hanging clothes were packed with care into the wardrobe boxes provided which was really convenient, they positioned my furniture in the new property and double checked with me before they left that everything was where I wanted it. They took great care not to damage any furniture or walls,radiators etc when moving large pieces of furniture around and covered my mattresses in protective plastic to ensure they stayed clean throughout the move.The team were extremely pleasant and worked hard all day and only stopped for lunch when the one house was packed up which gave me time to have my lunch before meeting them at the new house to start the unpacking and they were very appreciative of a few cups of tea and biscuits.I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic professional family run business, well done Callisters."

This was a difficult, overseas, move, from one 5 storey PH to another similar property - the latter without a lift. Because of the sea-crossing, it was over 3 days.

"This is the best known firm on the Isle of Man, and I chose them for their specialised knowledge on moves between the mainland and the Island.
I had an average amount of household furniture, heavy boxes/suitcases, but some exceptional items in 2 large sofas, and a very heavy bronze table base, with long, thick, glass table-top.
The men successfully negotiated every bend in every landing, and all items were delivered punctually, and in good condition.
The whole team were cheerful and helpful, doubtless taking their cue from the very hands-on proprietor."

"Callister Removals is a great choice for your house move. They helped enormously to make things go really smoothly and arrived on time to make sure we could meet our moving out time. I moved from one island Bute in Scotland to another Isle of Man in the Irish Sea so there were some logistics involed with ferries and such. All went exceptionally smoothly as the guys came the night before the move to check out what was moving and where it would be put in the van. Eaarly next day all was loaded and at the other end there were even more guys to the whole of the removal was in the house within just over an hour! Perfect.

"In all I was very pleased with the service. As noted, the guys came the night before the move and as it was island to island it was useful to be able to meet and discuss with the movers before the actual move. As they were on site it was easy to meet them next day early and the actual removal went quickly. Laying down (clean) dust sheets meant that there was not big clean up operation after the van was stored.
At the other end there were more people moving goods into the new house so it was a very smooth operation just directing which rooms to store goods in.
There was nothing chipped or damaged in any way as good care was taken of all the various items and boxes.
I recommend this team to anyone considering making a move!"

This was a removal involving a ferry journey followed by a considerable road trip . We had a large number of items and we had packed all of the small , breakable ones prior to collection . The company packed all of the furniture and did a superb job of protecting each piece and were extremely careful in loading them onto the removals wagon . Similarly they were equally as careful when unloading and not a single item suffered any damage throughout the whole process.

"Callisters made the whole experience stress free by their professional approach to every aspect of the removals process. Their quotation arrived promptly after the assessment of our requirements - two other similar companies were very slow in sending their quotes and were considerably higher in overall costs.

From the start communication with the company were very smooth with any query responded to very promptly . We had to change our delivery date on two occasions but this was accepted by the company who did everything they could to meet our changes . In no way were we made to feel that we were causing a problem and they altered their schedule to accommodate our requests.

During the collection and delivery days we had two different teams involving six removals men and they were all friendly , polite and very hard working .I could not praise them enough for the efforts they all made - they were a great team ."

From Isle of Man to UK. the move bridged TT fortnight - they could not have been more helpful. The move involved some dismantling of furniture - again the team were very helpful, marking all the parts for me to reassemble.

"As we started the process we were not entirely sure of the dates involved and in fact exchange of contracts did not occur until the day before the move. We are still not clear why. Callisters were most understanding and were clear about what they could or could not do.
As the move occurred just before the 2 week period of the IoM TT, we knew that the furniture could not come to the UK until after the racing. This suited us and in fact they delays delivery for us at no charge. The storage which they had to provide was not charged to us.
In all telephone contacts with the company, information was clear and I received a call back promptly when needed.

The staff who collected the items were rapid, and careful and very pleasant indeed. Simialryl the team who delivered.

A very positive experience throughout."

Callister Removals originally moved me from West Yorkshire to the Isle of Man some 4 years ago. On moving back who better than Callisters? The majority of my personal effects were in storage with Callister Removals (where they had lain since my original move to the Island 4 years previously), and these, together with the items from the house in the Isle of Man were transported to North Yorkshire.

"Callisers were in fact recommended to me by my father and he was right. I have dealt with Callister Removals for 4 years both in two moves - between the Isle of Man and Yorkshire and with the storage of my personal effects during my time on the Isle of Man.

I have always found them to be polite, efficient and helpful, both staff in the office when answering an enquiry to view my storage but also the friendly obliging drivers - nothing seems to be too much trouble.

All in all, if your looking to move to or from the Isle of Man or indeed within the Isle of Man - give Callisters a call."

The removal involved transportation of an upright piano, stool and ten asorted boxes.

"As we only had a part load it was explained and agreed that delivery would be determined by other orders in this area.

We were kept informed throughout and a collection date was agreed.
Callisters arrived at the stated time and carefully loaded the goods.
Delivery was made the following day to my son's address in Newcastle.
The hauliers liased with my son and the whole operation went very smoothly.

We were particularly pleased that Callister's used their own transport from collection on the island to the delivery point as we are aware that some hauliers use a third party in the UK.
