"TLDR - After a good friendly, quote, they never turned up to do the job.

I got a good quote from them 27/06/2023. The person I spoke with was professional and friendly so I instructed them to proceed. They said they'd be in touch. After 2 months I'd not heard anything. I contacted them and they said they'd be in touch. Another month went by, I contacted them again and they said they'd be in touch. They also suggested a number of reasons why the job hadn't been done and I could look to other companies to do it. At this point I'd mentally given up on them but hadn't booked with anyone else.

2 months later on (now 17/11/2023), I'd still not received a single email or call from them, so I put in a request to leave a review on ReferenceLine. Low and behold, 4 days later I got an email saying they can do the job "next week sometime". What a coincidence! So I said "OK". It's now been another 4 weeks and I've not heard anything from them.

This company has a good reputation on this site, and maybe that's accurate and I just got unlucky. I don't like leaving bad reviews because I'm aware the company's livelihood is affected by this but, for me, I can only go on what I've seen and assume they kept putting me off because they were too busy or had better, more profitable jobs to do.

What ever the reason is, I expect a company to contact me and make proper arrangements. I don't expect to have to constantly chase them. I wouldn't mind if they'd just been honest and said "we can't/won't do the job". At least I would know where I stand and move on to someone else."

"I've used L.G.Cooper in the past and they have always been professional, friendly and turned up in good time. This job was no exception, with the lads turning up to repair a leaking flat roof at fairly short notice, even with a full workload due to successive storms in the area. Speedy, but excellent job, which will give peace of mind knowing that the new roof was done to the highest standards.

Repair to leak in roof shown up in recent storms

"The recent storms revealed a substantial leak in my roof. After taking the time to identify where it was, and make temporary arrangements to catch the drops, I phoned this company. Although they were busy they turned up in two days, spotted immediately from the outside what was causing the leak (slipped tiles) and had it fixed in what seemed about half an hour. Now it is completely cured. Very friendly and professional.

I called LG Cooper as my Mother was hearing a rattling from the roof during the recent storms.

" I called and the lady on the phone said that they will get someone To go check the roof as soon as possible. I expected to have to wait quite some time due to the really bad weather and I’m sure they would have had a number of emergencies to deal with. LG Cooper were out looking at the roof within a couple of days and the problem was resolved very quickly and my Mother now has peace of mind, great job LG Cooper!"

"Have used firm before. The owner is professional and approachable. A proper detailed estimate is given. During the works you can discuss adjustments to scope and cost. The team doing the work is friendly. The work moved along at a steady pace with no unexplained absences. The work was completed very much to my satisfaction. I will seek out the firm for any further work I choose to do."

Broken slates repaired and roof inspected for any problems.

"The scaffolding for the job was put up very quickly and efficiently. The repairs - broken slates replaced and the roof was inspected for any other problems. All done very efficiently. Likewise the scaffolding came down very quickly and area was left in a tidy condition.
Employees were very pleasant and gave you confidence that they would carry out a good job. Very happy with all aspects."

"Cannot fault the work carried out which is to a very high standard. The finish looks superb and gives us peace of mind know in the knowledge that it has been done properly. Would not hesitate to recommend LG Cooper. We did wait a while to get the job done but that was the affect of Covid and clearly they are much in demand which is understandable considering the quality of work. I have seen L G Cooper vans around for many years which is always a good sign, knowing that they have survived where many firms have come and gone."
