Estate Agents may register with the Property Ombudsman as follows:
Sales Agents
These estate agents undertake to follow the Code of Practice for Residential Estate Agents, which has been approved by the Office of Fair Trading's Consumer Codes Approval Scheme. This Code exceeds the legal requirements of the Consumers, Estate Agents and Redress Act 2007 (CEARA).
Referenceline conducts monthly customer satisfaction surveys of these estate agents and the results are shown here, so you can search for recommended estate agents and read their customer ratings and reviews. The surveys show that 93% of consumers recommend their estate agent.
CEARA Only
These estate agents have registered to meet the legal requirements of the Consumers, Estate Agents and Redress Act 2007 (CEARA). Referenceline does not survey these agents.
Lettings Agents
These agents undertake to follow the Code of Practice for Letting Agents. Referenceline does not survey lettings agents.
