Estate and Letting Agents

It is a legal requirement for Estate and Letting Agents to join one of three Government-approved redress schemes. The three approved schemes are:

  • Ombudsman Services - Property
  • Property Redress Scheme
  • The Property Ombudsman

Guild of Professional Estate Agents

The Guild of Professional Estate Agents is a network of approaching 700 successful independent estate agents whose combined strength and experience helps with selling houses. Each member is committed to a quality of presentation and to working with other like-minded progressive agents to provide a wider market place of properties for sale.

Not only adhering to The Guild’s own Code of Conduct, but all are members of either the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or The Ombudsman for Estate Agents - the only Office of Fair Trading approved scheme in estate agency practice.

Property Ombudsman - Residential Sales Redress Scheme and TSI Approved Code

This firm is registered with the Property Ombudsman (TPO) which is independent and provides a free, fair and speedy review of complaints relating to residential property transactions between registered agents and clients that fall within his terms of reference.

Trading Standards Institute - Approved Codes

The Consumer Codes Approval Scheme is facilitated self-regulation. It aims to bolster consumer protection and improve customer service standards by the approval and promotion of codes of practice; setting out the principles of effective customer service; recognising approved traders - look for the CTSI approved code logo.

We are now in our third year of operation and continue to evolve and expand our network of Code Sponsors. The Codes scheme is managed by the Consumer Codes Approval Board (CCAB) operated by CTSI.
