The Fife Master Slaters and Plasterers Association was formed more than 60 years ago by a core of established Slating and Plastering firms in Fife and has continued to thrive through to the present day. All member firms in the Association have been vetted and approved to maintain standards and reliabilty of workmanship. The Association is consistently keeping pace with advancements in roofing and plastering systems. Employees of member firms are trained in the latest techniques and therefore you can be assured of the highest degree of reliabilty and quality of service.

Our members meet regularly to discuss and confront issues and changes throughout the industry. This keeps our members in tune with the very latest products and services along with up to date health and safety requirements, this information shared is vital to our commitment to a quality service.

Members range from small to large business working within our industries which mean you can always find a member who can handle the job, big or small. All of our members adhere to our constitutional code of ethics which have been guiding our associated members for more than 60 years.

Scottish Building Federation

Founded in 1895, the Scottish Building Federation (SBF) is a Company Limited by Guarantee, registered in Scotland (SC354581) and is the lead voice of the Scottish construction industry, an industry which, prior to recession, was responsible for more than £10 billion of output annually, roughly 10% of Scotland’s total economic output.

A true federation, comprising 16 Regional Associations, the SBF promotes the interests of the construction industry to a diverse range of stakeholders, representing around 700 companies from Orkney to the Borders.

SBF provides an exclusive range of invaluable support services to a wide range of member companies, whether these are small single trade firms or major regional and national contractors - the shared objective that all members have in common is their commitment to health and safety, skills and integrity, ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of performance, professionalism and quality within the industry in Scotland.

Trusted Trader is an independent scheme run by Fife Council Trading Standards. Businesses signing up to the scheme must abide by certain terms and conditions which reflect their responsible and sensible approach to the way they trade and conduct their business. TrustMark is a not for profit organisation, licensed by Government and supported by consumer protection groups, helping you find local, trustworthy & reliable tradesmen, operating to Government endorsed standards.

TrustMark is a quality mark which operates a framework under which 30 plus scheme operators working in the Repair, Maintenance and Improvement sectors are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen.

All of these scheme operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaints procedures are being maintained.

VELUX are a Trustmark scheme operator, so you have the additional comfort and peace of mind that Certified Installers are members of the only government-endorsed scheme for tradesmen.

VELUX Certified Installers must comply with stringent and regular checks and assessments by independent industry experts including: Examination of their financial records and trading history, Provision of relevant documents such as public liability insurance, Credit checks, References from previous customers

Certified Installers also undergo on-site inspections to ensure that the quality of their work meets the VELUX standard and agree to a comprehensive code of practice covering conduct and workmanship.
