Failure of motor dealer to supply paper work for car warranty. It was promised but never provided. My efforts had failed.

I phoned Dundee city council for help and advice on companies who deal with Triple glazing. Someone on the phone referred me to trading standards I got excellent help and was sent a copy of trusted traders, who deal with double glazing. As I have not got a computer this was a great help to me.

D/Glazing company's agreement followed 7-days for the customer to change their mind. I noticed that they could not provide the surveyor to discuss specification and take accurate measurements within the 7 day cooling - off period, so I insisted that a letter authorising an extension of the time period was obtained from the regional manager before I signed and paid the £2000 deposit. Concerns I had LED me to cancel the agreement on day 9. Despite the letter of extension, which formed part of the agreement I signed the manager said I had gone beyond the 7-day cooling - off period, therefore, Everest Ltd. Would retain my deposit of £2000!
 

"Indispensable!

It is very reassuring to know you are there, for people to turn to when unscrupulous traders are trying it on.
Officer Stuart Houston assessed my situation accurately and gave me reassurance all would be well... Eventually.
He fired off an email to the company that had the effect he intended. The next day, I received a telephone response from Everest's legal department informing me that my £ 2000 deposit would be returned to me.
Make no mistake but for the intervention of a skilled trading standards officer on my behalf, Everest would have kept my money!"

My CRA rights were not be respected by a retailer. Called the CAB who referred by case to Trading standards and Allison Reio dealt with my case.
 

"Allison was very professional and dealt with my case as if it was her's. She also manage my expectations correctly, the key thing in that she didn't give me false hope that I will definitely get a refund as Trading standards cannot force retailers to do so, But will ensure my CRA rights are respected. I had a complaint against weather seal who gave me a quote for a replacement window who did not explain the true cost of the window. They took a deposit and filed to mentioned that the price quoted did not included a further admin fee over and above what I was told was the 'final price'. I cancelled the job within 24hrs and they then tried to keep the 'admin fee!
 

"Trading Standards were fantastic throughout the whole deback which lasted at least 2 months from the initial complaint. They gave me legal advise support and personal intervention on my behalf with the company. Without the persistence of trading standards and continual phone calls from myself, I don't think I'd have achieved the positive outcome. In my opinion it was the threat of prosecution that finally made the company refund me

I contacted Trading standards because cloudy 2 clear damaged the frame of my window when they were replacing the cloudy glass. They totally ignored my attempts to sort this out.

"I was not sure if a letter I received was a scam.
Within 1 day I had an email back from trading standards saying that the company was bonafide and I could accept the help they were offering.
The firm Equifax had been hacked and were offering free advice and cover against further hacking of my accounts.
Very helpful advice and I felt I would be able to ask again if the need arise.

Fault with 1-4 seater and chair to match the covers for the seats were not made to proper standard. I have three covers to prove this. I am waiting an another settee and chair which they said I was to receive. Still waiting on when and I have no intention of letting them get away with this.
