Strip out and reinstate of downstairs including plaster from walls, kitchen, and floors after escape of water from mains supply. Unable to provide a price for all works as some was covered in the insurance work however estimate would be around 20k

"CEFO was subbed the work from another contractor called NCN who was instructed by Oakleafe Claims. As CEFO and NCN are both accredited master builders, we asked for additional quotes for extra work to be carried out that was not part of the insurance scope and was provided a quotation by CEFO. We were moved in to temporary accommodation whilst the work was carried out. In our naivety, we agreed to pay almost all of the additional work invoices to ensure everything ran smoothly. We were told the work would take 6 weeks but after four months there was little progress made and what had been done was not to a satisfactory standard. When we came back to the house one evening to check on progress, we noticed that a lot of our furniture, property and carpet had been damaged at which point we asked for CEFO and NCN to attend a meeting. Lee Grimwood did not attend that meeting despite originally confirming he would be at the house and did not let us know he was not coming. When we arrived, all of the tools had been collected and removed from the house. NCN did attend and was understandably embarrassed at the quality of the work and that Lee had removed his team from the project without notice. We have had to replace the carpet and furniture at a total cost of 7k. NCN had to instruct another contractor to rip out most of the work and start again. Unfortunately due to the poor workmanship, we had to spend more time away from home and a year after the work started, have not got our house back to its original pre loss state, even now. NCN agreed to cover the cost of the damage and the additional work that we paid Lee for and upon review of the invoices thought they were too expensive. Lee had told us that he had to add an additional % to the costs to cover NCN's costs however NCN told us they were unaware of this and did not expect any payment for additional work carried out outside of the insurance scope.
I've got to say that I have been nave in trusting Lee as he came across well and as I said before is accredited a master builder but I would say on reflection, he is a better sales person than a builder and his team of tradespeople are not fit to carry out the work. He was out of his depth. What is more, he took our money for unsatisfactory work, damaged our property and furniture and when confronted, ran away and never contacted us to explain after or offer us our money back. I can accept sometimes people are less skilled but I can not accept this behavior. Luckily for him National Contractor Network told me not to chase Lee for the damage and poor work.
I would welcome a response from CEFO and the money back for the poor work that was carried out as effectively, he has stolen from me."
