My house move took place in one day from my old house in Blackrod to my new house in Horwich. There were a few large items, including an American fridge/freezer, two beds, a heavy kitchen table and a large L-shaped sofa. Some other items of furniture included two chests of drawers. Other than this, it was mostly boxes. A representative from the company came twice before the move to evaluate the volume and this was much appreciated as we had cut down a lot from the first visit. This greatly helped to reduce the cost of removal, as there was a suggestion originally that it might have to be done over two days.

"I did all the packing, most of it in the weeks prior to the move. The two removal men arrived at about 9 am to start loading. They introduced themselves and I showed them around so they knew what was going and what was staying. They took great care to protect the carpets, furnishings and mattresses etc. before they even started to move anything. I was very impressed with their overall professionalism and they were both friendly, helpful and polite. It was a downsize move so there it was a bit of a squeeze at the other end to get everything in, however the two men did a fantastic job. I had to leave them at the new property for a short while as I had to go back to the old house and I felt they were totally trustworthy. I was really pleased with how it went overall. Nothing was damaged or broken and I can highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of employing a professional removal company. I would certainly use them again, although I hope I don't have to, at least not in the near future!"

4 bed house to 4 bed house, distance of 40 miles

"Survey carried out and promptly quoted. It was last minute booking because of complications. Arrived Thursday afternoon for part pack and the 3 lads never stopped even for a brew. Returned the following day and packed the rest by lunch time. Unfortunately we were informed a hour later that exchange would not be going ahead till the following Tuesday, therefore our belongings were stored in the van till then. This cost us an additional amount larger than expected!
On the Tuesday 2 lads turned up on time and started to unpack the van. Yet again so polite and hard working and again never stopped for a brew. We did help them as much as we could because we had a lot of stuff I feel for 2 to unload"

Our move took place over 3 days - the team were amazing! Really helpful, cheerful and took such care over all our items.

"We've just finished unpacking the last boxes, and I can report that not a single item has been damaged or broken.

Our move was delayed by my employers several times during recent months, and the office team at Brittania always took it in their stride and did their best to reassure us when we were at our most frustrated :)

Local move from 4 bed semi to 4 bed detached. We used the packing service for convenience. We also used the service to take apart and reassemble a bed and a bunk bed.

"We had a very positive experience with Britannia. They were polite and efficient at every step, and helpful for all our needs.
The packing service was excellent and took a lot of stress out of the move and we would use this service again without hesitation (although we are not planning another move for a long time!).
The team on the 2 days of packing/moving were lovely guys who were respectful of the 2 properties. They were polite and friendly, and very helpful.

My house move was in two parts, out of current home in Manchester with all contents in storage, then move contents to new home in Scotland. I wanted to remove as much stress as possible by not moving my furniture etc several times.

"Moving out of Manchester there were plenty of crew, who were polite, respectful and checked with me as things were carefully packed in crates and sealed. It was a relief and the team took everything in their stride. Months later the delivery of my stored contents happened in Scotland. The crew worked tirelessly and with care to place the contents in the required rooms and outside shed. Definitely worth the meticulous labelling of boxes so that everything ends up in the right place (my tip).
I’d highly recommend Britannia as they were professional, obliging, nothing was too much trouble and my move went exactly to plan.I’d looked at other companies for the move but the representative from Britannia seemed to genuinely care and had solutions for all my initial concerns."

The move was from a semi detached on a busy residential street to a new build which was not signposted and was narrow for the truck to get into

"The team managed it expertly and the service was outstanding.

Would highly recommend the packing service if within budget - it saved us so much stress!

The whole service from start to finish was amazing. Jayne at the office was great and dealt with our reservation, the initial inspector for the quote was clear and precise with information and the moving team was absolutely superb.

Everything was packed safely and there wasn't a single scratch on any item, nothing even looking like it had been moved once unpacked.

A superb service and they even moved the quote to allow it to fit in our budget."

"Anchor were incredibly accommodating, managing to book in our cross-country move at very short notice due to delays in conveyancing. The office team were very helpful and lovely to deal with, keeping us informed all the way along. The moving teams on both days worked incredibly hard, were careful with all item and kept really positive despite a few challenges and long days. Moved from 3 bedroom house with difficult layout - 3 levels and a very very narrow lane - they movers were amazing. Very respectful and thoughtful of neighbours due to the narrow lane, packed everything with care and lovely to deal with (plus arrived at 8.30 on the dot as planned!!)

"This is the 4th time I have used this removal company - once a big move from London to Manchester, two smaller furniture moves and one larger full house local within Greater Manchester - so highly recommend!!

From initial call with the office, emails with the team (shout out to Ellen) and the actual guys doing the moving and packing was without glitch and smooth sailing! At a stressful time, such as moving house, they made it an easy and pleasurable experience.

I think it is very good value for money (I was quoted a lot higher for large nationwide removal companies) - not one thing has broken in all this moving!

The most recent was from 3 bedroom house with difficult layout - 3 levels and a very very narrow lane - they movers were amazing. Very respectful and thoughtful of neighbours due to the narrow lane, packed everything with care and lovely to deal with (plus arrived at 8.30 on the dot as planned!!)

Good swift courteous workers.

"Only negative points: took items from old property to take to new without my knowledge so I found items I had wanted to leave behind. On arrival at new property we were asked where items went for first hour, after which they didn't consult me any longer so later I discovered quite a number of items that should have remained downstairs had been taken upstairs I understood chest of bedroom drawers, 2 inall, could be left with clothing inside, 1 of the chests was left as such, the other was all emptied into a large box without me knowing so alot of things were extremely mixed up, clothes with gifts and contact lensesand travel accessories etc."

Move from home in to storage for 2 nights then into new property.

"Due to delays in solicitors managing the purchase of my house it became very stressful as I had to move out of my rental property. The Brittania staff were fantastic and pulled all the stops out to ensure my belongings were looked after and that I was supported and listened to. They ensured storage and arranged delivery of my things as soon as they could. I couldn’t have wished for a better service. The ladies in the office kept in touch all the way through as did the removal team, reassuring me and their calm, professional manner made such a difficult few days so much better.
The removal guys worked so hard, and I was so glad I chose Britannia again."

"Admin staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly Lyndsay, who put my mind at ease when I hadworries over whether we'd be able to move on our planned date. Paul was very professional when he came to do the initial removal survey and answered all our questions. The removal crew, Paul and Reece, were so hard working and cheerful throughout a long and tiring day. I was only sorry that I couldn't find the kettle to brew up for them!"
