Defending champ Florida State tops SI's list, but Alabama and Auburn are not far behind.Alabama falls at No. 2:"Nick Saban just lost two games in a row," writes SI's Martin Rickman. "He had to sit at a desk and talk about Auburn, the team that spoiled Alabama's undefeated season, and Florida State, a team coached by Saban's former assistant, on national television during the BCS title game. He'll be furious entering the 2014 campaign. Also, in the time it took to read the last few sentences, the Crimson Tide picked up three more five-star running backs and defensive linemen."Auburn, which fell to Florida State in the final seconds in the BCS title game on Monday, checks in at No. 6 on the list:"Gus Malzahn is a mastermind, and his players were only a few seconds away from winning it all," write Rickman. "Even with Heisman finalist Tre Mason declaring for the NFL draft,the Tigers have speedsters on offense and big, skilled players on defense. A winning culture has been instilled on the Plains, and that disastrous 3-9 (0-8 SEC) campaign has become a distant memory.As for the rest of the SEC, LSU is ranked 10th, South Carolina 12th, Georgia 14th, Missouri 17th, Ole Miss 19th and Texas A M comes in at No. 22.
