-- Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn is scheduled to speak with the media at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon, a chance to wrap up the Tigers' 2013 season and take a look at the beginning of Auburn's offseason.As always, live updates will be provided on Malzahn's comments.Follow along for news, notes, quotes and observations.** "After having a few days to reflect on the season, a couple of things stand out to me." Malzahn says one is to get Auburn's edge back, team came within 13 seconds of winning the national championship. Proud that his team got better each and every week.** Malzahn: "Big-picture, as far as moving forward, we're getting a lot of guys back." Says he feels good about Tigers' future.** Malzahn, on the fact that his next team will have big expectations: "First of all, I think that's a good thing. ... Our approach will be the same. We'll always work hard."** Malzahn on Nick Marshall. "We're very excited about the spring with Nick. We've gotten a lot of information. Build around his strengths even more."** More Malzahn on Marshall. "His upside is very high."** Malzahn on Marshall: "He throws the ball well. I think it's just more timing with him and his receivers."** Malzahn on possibly throwing the ball more: "We're going to open it up."** Malzahn says Auburn's going to open the left tackle spot up for a battle, and the Tigers will look at Shon Coleman, Patrick Miller and Robert Leff.** Auburn's coaching staff hasn't looked at Avery Young moving to the left side yet. Tigers will move.** Malzahn says Trovon Reed going to corner "was premature." All position changes will be talked about during the spring.** Former tight end Ricky Parks is back on the team, walking on.** Malzahn says he basically went right back to work the day after Auburn got back. "You've got to keep going. ... Not a lot of time to rest."** Malzahn: "It's pretty tough if you get that close. You've got to find a way to move on, but the future's bright, and we're looking forward."** Malzahn says he "doesn't know what you're talking about," regarding Jimbo Fisher's assertion that the Tigers were stealing signals.** Kiehl Frazier is moving on from the team.** Justin Delaine wasn't on the roster for the BCS game. Asked if he's still on the team, Malzahn says "We're working through that."** Malzahn says Auburn has "discretionary weeks" when players have the chance to work out on their own. In two weeks, work will start with Ryan Russell.** Malzahn says his contract will be signed, details finalized "in the near future."** Malzahn: "It all started with those seniors."** Malzahn, on who will be available during the spring from the injured players. "We're still working through that. The good thing is that a lot of those guys are veteran guys."** Malzahn on Justin Garrett. "Hopefully, we can get him healthy, and he can come back and help us in the fall."** Malzahn on final push to signing day. "Really, it's just fill our overall needs. There's not one area that stands out."** On the signing period, Malzahn says last year's push to the finish line will help, because this staff is used to a shortened period. The dead period ends Jan. 15, much later than last year.** Malzahn on recruiting. "I think everything is very good. I think the future's going to be bright."** Malzahn says Greg Robinson and Tre Mason are the only Tigers who were looking at the NFL.
