Humphrey's father, former Alabama great Bobby Humphrey, told the site that his son will no longer be traveling to Iceland for the track event and will instead visit Florida State on the weekend of January 17. Humphrey will take his official visit to Alabama, his other finalist, on the weekend of January 24.

Humphrey also plans to visit Mississippi State on January 26 and UCLA on January 31, but has stated publicly that Alabama and Florida State are his two co-leaders.

After originally planning an announcement of his college decision at a Birmingham track event on February 1, Humphrey will no longer hold any kind of public announcement according to his father.

"We don't have a date set for when he will announce. We don't plan on having a press conference," Bobby Humphrey . "Marlon will call the coaches and commit. That's the plan. He will probably commit a few days before signing day."

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback is rated the nation's No. 1 cornerback prospect by the 247Composite rankings and is the consensus choice of the major recruiting services as the state of Alabama's No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2014.
