Hoover cornerback was scheduled to announce his college decision on February 1 at the state indoor track championships but a new opportunity has led to a change of plans for the state of Alabama's top football prospect.

Humphrey, who is also an elite track athlete, announced on Thursday morning that he will travel to Reykjavik, Iceland on January 17 to compete in an international track event.

Humphrey had originally planned to take an official visit to Florida State that weekend but will now likely visit the Seminoles the weekend of February 1, the final weekend available for official visits before National Signing Day on February 5.

Humphrey will take his official visit to Alabama, his other finalist, on the weekend of January 24.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback is rated the nation's No. 1 cornerback prospect by the 247Composite rankings and is the consensus choice of the major recruiting services as the state of Alabama's No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2014.
