Countdown to the GoDaddy Bowl: Central Michigan last team standing in double-overtime thriller Antonio Brown returns a kickoff 95 yards for a Central Michigan touchdown against Troy in the fourth quarter of the GMAC Bowl on Jan. 6, 2010, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. (Press-Register file)

In anticipation of thebetween Arkansas State and Ball State at 8 p.m. Sunday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, AL.com is counting down to the game by counting through the bowl's history. The 11th game:

- The score was only 10-9 at halftime, but the GMAC Bowl managed to go out with the kind of offensive shootout for which Mobile's game had become known. Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour went out with a bang, too, rallying the No. 25 Chippewas for a 44-41 double-overtime victory against Troy on Jan. 6, 2010.

LeFevour, the second player to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season, completed 33 of 55 passes for 395 yards to finish his career second to Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang in total yards in NCAA FBS history.

But when DuJuan Harris scored his second rushing touchdown of the game with 8:01 to play, Troy (9-4) had a 31-19 lead. Harris gained 112 yards on 14 carries and also caught a TD pass.

Antonio Brown returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to jump-start Central Michigan's comeback. The kickoff return was part of Brown's 403 all-purpose yards, the second-most in bowl history. Current Tennessee Titans star Chris Johnson had 408 all-purpose yards in East Carolina's 41-38 victory over Boise State in the 2007 Hawaii Bowl. Brown caught 13 passes for 178 yards, rushed four times for 22 yards and a touchdown and returned seven kickoffs for 203 yards.

When Central Michigan (12-2) got the ball back, LeFevour completed 8 of 11 passes for 90 yards, hitting Bryan Anderson with a 4-yard touchdown pass with 1:17 left. LeFevour then passed to Kito Poblah for the 2-point conversion that gave Central Michigan a 34-31 lead.

"I just tried to stay cool, tried to stay calm and collected," LeFevour said. "I tried to show that aura to my team and let them believe in me."

Troy QB Levi Brown stood toe-to-toe with LeFevour. He completed 31 of 56 passes for 386 yards in the game and got the Trojans into position for Michael Taylor's 46-yard field goal with 31 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

LeFevour ran 13 yards for a touchdown that was matched by Shawn Southward's second 1-yard TD plunge of the game in the first overtime.

In the second overtime, Vince Agnew blocked Taylor's 31-yard field-goal attempt, allowing Central Michigan to win the game on Andrew Aguila's 37-yard field goal. Aguila became the sixth player with five field goals in a bowl.

The twin big air games by LeFevour and Levi Brown led to 44 first downs on passes, an all-bowl record.

Central Michigan played without coach Butch Jones, who left to become the head coach at Cincinnati. He's now the head coach at Tennessee.

Central Michigan had three players drafted by the NFL off this team - LeFevour, Antonio Brown and Eric Fisher. A freshman tackle, Fisher did not play in the bowl for Central Michigan. He was the first player selected in the 2013 NFL Draft. Troy has had five drafted - linebacker Cameron Sheffield, defensive back Jorrick Calvin, Levi Brown, wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan and defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi. Jernigan, who played at Eufaula High School, caught nine passes for 154 yards against Central Michigan.
