As they did in the first season of the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco, Five Flags Speedway and will host four super late model doubleheaders during the 2014 racing campaign.

The Southern Super Series announced its 2014 schedule on Monday. The series will visit the Pensacola half-mile oval on April 25, May 23, July 25 and Sept. 19 with dates following at the Irvington half-mile track on April 26, May 24, July 26 and Sept. 20.

The Southern Super Series raced four times at Five Flags in 2013, but two of the scheduled dates at Mobile International were rained out.

The other three tracks that participated in the inaugural season return to the 2014 lineup. The circuit will visit Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville on April 5 to start the season and on Nov. 1 to close it. Montgomery Motor Speedway will host races on May 10, June 28 and Sept. 6. Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga., will have SSS races on July 12 and Aug. 9.

All of the Southern Super Series races are scheduled for 125 laps with the exceptions of the World Crown 300 at Gresham on Aug. 9, the Alabama 200 at Montgomery on Sept. 6 and the All American 400 at Nashville on Nov. 1.

Daniel Hemric of Kannapolis, N.C., won the first Southern Super Series driving championship by one point over Bubba Pollard of Senoia, Ga.

The Southern Super Series also has tabbed Dan Spence to serve as the first series director in addition to his duties as race director.

"We had a great start to the Southern Super Series in 2013, and we want to continue to grow and develop the series," said Spence in a press release. "Not only did we make history with a great championship battle the first year, but we also returned a touring series to some of the same tracks that used to fly under the old All Pro Series that was started by Bob Harmon."

The NASCAR K N Pro Series East also will make a Gulf Coast stop again in 2014, visiting Five Flags Speedway on June 13. winner was Ben Kennedy, who joined Turner Scott Motorsports on Monday to compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2014.

The ARCA Racing Series will visit Mobile International Speedway for the third annual on March 22.
