MALDEN, Massachusetts -- A Massachusetts teen fighting cancer received a special gift the day after Christmas when supermodel Gisele Bundchen showed up at her home.

Karina Moreira, 15, , that it was definitely a surprise when the knock on the door came.

I was just standing there like, 'Oh my God,' and I just gave her a hug, an automatic hug, and it was really nice, Moreira told the news station.

It was not the first time Moreira met her idol, who, like her, is a native Brazilian. The pair met two years ago at an event for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

At that point, Moreira was in remission from bone cancer, . The cancer has since come back, and she is undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

While Moreira, a fashion aficionado, chatted with Bundchen about clothes and makeup, the more important gift was her role model's support.

Bundchen posted a photo of herself with Moreira on, offering a message of strength and love: "It was a pleasure to see you again @chicbykarina. You are a warrior, an inspiration of positivity and courage. I will be praying for you. Sending you love and light always."

Moreira said she is optimistic that she will once again beat cancer.

(Gisele) says that you have to be really positive, and I actually agree with her, and I think that's very important, Moreira said.
