The Red Couch Tour:The second-annual Red Couch tour kicks off on Feb. 1 and lasts throughout themonth! If you re not hip to the Red Couch, it is one of the primary ways thatwe in Birmingham celebrate and highlight the Go Red For Women campaign.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in America,claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. Through Go RedFor Women, the AHA raises awareness of the risks associated with heart diseaseand provides women the resources and information they need to fight it.

Locally, businesses around town will host our Red Couch anactual red couch! during the month, encouraging curious bystanders to stopby, have a seat and learn more about their heart disease risks. It s also anopportunity for people to share and hear stories of how heart disease hasimpacted lives right here in central Alabama. Follow the tour at .

Wear Red Day:Mark your calendars and search your closet. Friday, Feb. 7 is National Wear Red Day, and we need you to donyour favorite red article of clothing to help us raise heart disease awareness.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in America and it claimsthe lives of more women than men each year. By wearing red and explaining whyyou re doing so you re helping us raise awareness of the threat of heartdisease, hopefully encouraging folks to visit their doctor for a checkup and adoptsome healthy lifestyle habits. West Alabama HeartWalk: Bundle up and join us at the annual West Alabama Heart Walk on Saturday,Feb. 15 inside the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. There will be music, games, freesnacks and drinks oh, and a free 5K walk/run! Come celebrate a personal triumphover heart disease, or complete the 5K in honor or memory of someone who hasfought the battle. You can register for free at .The event gets underway at 8 a.m.
