"Mark of the Corripian," the first book in a planned four-novel series by Shelby County author Bethany Parker, takes place on another planet populated by humans and an alien race called the Kairian and revolves around the adventures of two young human adults.

SHELBY COUNTY, Alabama -- Shelby County author BethanyParker will be signing pre-release copies of her debut young-adult fantasy novel,"Mark of the Corripian," on Sunday at the .

Parker, a resident of the Indian Springs Village area,will be at the library from 2 to 3 p.m. and she will have copies of her novelavailable for sale. "Mark of the Corripian" comes out through Oklahoma-based TatePublishing on Feb. 25.

Pre-release copies of her novel will be available for each, a savings from the retail price of .99. E-book copies will cost each. Her novel will be available at many local bookstores and Amazon when it officiallycomes out.
