2 north Alabama school systems add class time to make up for weather days; others undecided(stock.xchng.com)

Officials at two school systems, those in Lawrence and Limestone counties, decided to add time to school days to make up for missed days during the recent arctic cold front but other systems have not announced plans.

Limestone County schools, which closed one day due to power outages and burst pipes and delayed other days, will add one hour to regular class schedules from Jan. 13-17, Jan. 21-24 and Jan. 27, Superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk said. Buses will run when students are released from class. .

Lawrence County schools, which were closed due to buses that would not start, will add an hour to each day through Jan. 17 to make up eight of the 14 hours missed, according to .
