With many years' experience in the removals and relocation industry, George Bernard Shaw Removals and Storage is a long-established business, offering nationwide and worldwide removals, storage and self-storage to customers throughout Sunderland, Durham, and Newcastle. Established over 40 years ago, the business is situated in Hexham.
We are members of the British association of removers, and BS EN12522 accredited quality service providers for the removal industry.
Utilising a modern fleet secure warehouse and fully qualified staff, the company can offer a professional removal and storage and self-storage to home owners and businesses. The service is intended to be cost effective whilst compliant with all current regulations, enabling clients to relax and focus on what they do best.
We ensure clients have a trouble-free move and can offer increased efficiency. Delivered to your door, the storage containers are filled and then returned to the warehouse reducing handling by 50%.

Moved from a 4 bed to a 4 bed about half a mile apart.

"From the first phonecall to arrange an estimator, right through to the guys packing the day before and the guys on the day of removal, an outstanding service.
The price was broken down with options for packing and insurances. No pressure to take any additional services.
We took the packing option and it was worth every penny.
The office staff were fantastic too, we didn�t have a confirmed completion date from the solicitors but it wasn�t a problem.
All in all a extremely professional service from start to finish that I would highly recommend.

This was a house move over a distance of 10 miles. Two households in close proximity to each other were moved into the same residence 1 miles away. Included were a computer and two flat screen TV''s which all arrived in good order.

"The staff facilitated a smooth and stress-free move which made a huge difference to the whole process. I was very pleased with the protectors supplied for the lounge suite and beds. The staff were punctual, calm, obliging and professional. They collected the empty boxes promptly and refunded our deposit immediately.

If I have to move again, I'll definitely choose them!"

"Generally the experience from beginning to end was very positive. We were kept informed every step of the way with a confidence that made us feel reassured. The removal team who moved us on moving day were very professional. They were very courteous and polite. They were careful with our belongings, our home we left behind and our new home we moved into. Despite the first part of the move taking a little longer than anticipated the removal team were very calm and therefore we felt very positive about our move. After move day once we had unpacked, the collection of boxes and obtaining a refund deposit was straightforward and hassle-free too. We would highly recommend this organisation for removals. A huge thank you to all staff involved in our move."

The removals team (just two people) worked with us for four days (one of them for just 3 days). They packed everything, loaded the van and made repeated deliveries to the new address (since the large van originally planned for was ultimately unavailable). the two men working with us were absolutely fantastic.

"They just kept going, accommodating the sudden absence of the large van or any other team members, taking real care over the protection of our things, smiling all the time, only stopping for brief lunches, and staying calm when we were progressively moer stressed and tired. Ultimately only one glass arrived broken in the new house which is amazing considering how many glass and china items there were to move. If they had not had the small van for all that time, and the distance between houses was greater, it could all have gone horribly wrong, but in the event it was fine.

Just a bit frustrated that it has taken so long to get the empty boxes removed (and the piano trolley whcih was also left behind)because it has been 3 weeks of living in a cardboard jungle. Otherwise, and despite obvious issues over the availability for the larger van and the fact that there was more to pack than the movers had andicipated from the original report) we would say this was money very well spent. The guys who moved us cannot be praised enough."

"This is the second move with these guys. The staff are second to none. Always polite and nothing was ever a problem even though we were only presented with one key to access new property with difficult angles!!

They are swift and great to communicate all along the moving line and i would recommend them to anyone to take away the stress on moving day."
