About Us


We are an independent Estate Agency offering a more individual approach to selling property. We focus on building a good working relationship with both sellers and buyers.

We have a reputation for selling properties in the Queens Park, Throop and Charminster areas of Bournemouth in particular, but we also sell properties in other surrounding areas. High levels of repeat business and recommendations we receive are a good indication of how we conduct our business.

From initial appraisal to preparation of high quality particulars, and negotiating / monitoring sales, owners can be sure they will receive our close attention at all times.

Buyers can be assured we will listen carefully to their requirements in order to match them to appropriate properties for a successful result.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and professional standards, being members of both the National Association of Estate Agents and the Property Ombudsman Scheme.

Their knowledge of properties is immense and they know this area thoroughly so pitched our property in exactly the right way to maximise our chances of selling their marketing methods were also very good. We have relatives who move properties frequently and from their comments we realise what a good service we received from this company. So very reassuring of extremely nervous vendors having not been through this process for nearly forty years. Unfortunately we were not so fortunate in the choice of our solicitors and Margaret very ably picked up all the slack that resulted from this fact and saved the sale and the help she gave enabled us to buy the bungalow we moved into. "After a protracted property sale / purchase we finally completed after 5 months. The Estate Agent (Penny Shaw) that we dealt with at Paul Watts was professional and courteous at all times and helped us through a difficult purchase. The satisfaction ratings that I have given above do not relate to the service we received from Penny.
However, upon completion we were informed that the key to the outbuilding was missing, and had to employ a locksmith to make the building secure, at our own expense. At no point in the sale process had we been told that the key was missing. Upon contacting Paul Watts to make them aware that I was disappointed (having been told that all keys would be made available on completion) I received a very rude e-mail from Margaret Annable. Instead of offering an apology or offer to reimburse the cost of the locksmith, or ask the vendor to reimburse, the e-mail actually attacked us due to the length of time the purchase process had taken and at one point stated 'Some sellers might well have decided to place such a saleable property back on the market and most likely would have achieved a higher selling price.' which I obviously found very offensive, especially as I had suggested that they re-marketed rather than wait for a situation that was out of our control to resolve itself. I would not recommend Paul Watts to any friends or family members."

We are naturally disappointed to receive this review, which resulted from one email at the end of a 5 month process during which we felt we provided a high level of service. However we have to accept that these purchasers will not be recommending us, which is very disheartening for all the team.
We should point out that we have paid the locksmith's invoice for the new outbuilding lock and key (which we were not aware was not available until after completion).
On a factual note, we see that the buyers advise they were not notified that we are members of The Property Ombudsman Scheme. This is incorrect as the logo is shown on our brochures and letterheadings, and we specifically referred to our membership in our confirmation offer letter.

"Paul Watts is a small and local firm. You get a personal, honest and knowledgeable service from Margaret, she'll work hard for you, return calls promptly and is always polite and respectful.

There is no pushiness, none of the nonsense you can get from some Estate Agents that are desperate to keep your custom. We had no foul ups/mistakes, everything Margaret did was accurate and professional.

The price was really good. Margaret recommended and helped us with a good local and independent removal company, helped us source free boxes locally and was generally a great person to deal with. As far as you can take the pressure out of buying or selling, Margaret did that. Our house sold for a good price.

"Extremely helpful estate agent. Always friendly and professional. Had used their services to sell another property so knew they had a good track record. We had lots of viewings and lots of interest. All the staff are helpful and discreet and very prompt in returning calls. Our situation was quite complicated and there were plenty of ups and downs during which the team at Paul Watts acted impeccably. They handled the sale of the property with great sensitivity which is important as moving house is one of the most stressful times in your life. Their local knowledge is excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to sellers and buyers."

"I feel that the service and customer quality I received was fantastic. My particular circumstances meant that I was up against a tricky timescale and various members at the office specifically helped me in all the ways I needed. They were always friendly and helpful, and always clear on reassuring me on how things were going week by week.
Also I was not expecting a congratulatory moving in pack which was very pleasant surprise.
