This project had multiple parts to it. The main part was to build a single storey rear kitchen extension 5 metres deep by 8 meters wide. Another part was to bring an existing flat roof up to correct level of insulation as this would require the correct fall onto the new roof. We also required the first floor rear wall to be externally insulated as the house is not cavity and was thermally inefficient. The last parts were to dig down in the existing utility room to connect to foul waste services to enable the room to become a wet room. Other works included moving the boiler, extending pipe work for new rads and installing all the new electrics for lights, sockets and appliances. We also asked for extra''s like an outside tap, outside socket, outside security light and down lights in the soffits

"We had various companies come around to quote on our extension requirements and whilst some were reasonably priced, we didn't get that warm feeling they would be reliable. We had used ‘Shapeup Ltd’ one year earlier when the government had their green initiative scheme to insulate houses externally at a discounted rate. These guys were efficient, extremely clean and tidy, professional, respectful of our neighbours and did such a great job that we also asked them to quote as remember they did extensions as well. Bogdan (the owner) and Peter (the crew foreman) came around and we went through the plans and they even proposed some better ideas and as their quote was around the ball park figure we decided to select this company. Having used them before it made sense to go with a reliable team then an unknown just to save a few 1,000's. I am so glad I did as every day at 7:30 I had 6 of the team turn up and work through to at least 5:00 with a 30 minute lunch break. The work ethic of these guys is second to none and recorded their progress through photos from the CCTV. Right from the start by hand they had dug the footings out which was 60cm wide by 1 metre depth and a total length of 18 metres. This was wheel barrowed onto the skip after they had laid protective sheeting all around. Then they had to dig down as under the new extension was the foul waste and rain water pipes running along the back gardens that had to be tapped into. It was fantastically project manged as only the materials that would be used for the next few days would be delivered which allowed us to still use our drive and not block any rights of way. I know a bit about building and some companies try and maximise their profit by using cheap or not correct quality materials, this was not the case with ShapeUp. From a home owner point of view it was fantastic just dealing with Bogdan who would project manage it all and would organise when he needed his plumbers on electricians on site. We got them to do so many extra bits and have not got enough space to go in to detail. All I can say, if you want 100% reliable, polite, clean and professional work then I can fully vouch for this team. If you live close by I wold be more than willing to show you the work they have completed. They also have sourced an excellent kitchen fitter for us which is less than half the price Wren had quoted. I could go into a lot more detail and would be willing to discuss on a phone call as there are too many sharks out there and feel it is only right to help others with a first class company. You may need to get in quick though, as 3 houses down our street have already enquired about their services!"

"Bogdan was clear with the price and time-frame prior to the job.

The team started the job at the agreed date and completed the work exceedingly quickly (about 1 week from start to finish for scaffolding, insulating, rendering and clearing up).

I was happy with all the work completed and all workers were polite and friendly. For example, they queried with us before making any decisions regarding drain pipes, window sills etc. and asked permission before walking through the house and what sockets/water pipe to use etc.

The team also was also knowledgeable of all the products and kit they used and answered all our questions before and during the job.

They were also exceedingly good regarding payment as were happy to take payment for the entire amount after the job was completed.

I highly recommend ShapeUp Construction to anyone wanting External Wall Insulation for their property.

"The guys did a fantastic job and were extremely clean, proficient and hard working. Bogdan (the manager) kept me informed of days they would be on site and what they expected to achieve. 2/3's of the cost was paid through a government green grant and if I was able to review that process then that would be a big fat zero!

We would definitely use this firm again as we felt the trust in their ability and honesty. We are even going to get them to quote on a kitchen extension as know their attention to detail will give us the product we want and the reassurance it is built to high specification.

External wall insulation and rendering of end terrace house under the Green Homes Grant using the Insta Clad system, approved by the BBA. It required removing and replacing existing down pipes and window sills.

"From start to finish, very professional, thorough and tidy. Windows were covered adequately to ensure they were protected throughout the works; at each stage I was informed of what the work entailed. They arrived on time each day and caused minimal disruption, some was necessary due to the nature of the job i.e not flushing toilets whilst pipes were replaced and new ones installed and moving my car from the drive on occasion. The end product was exactly as I'd hoped and before making any payment I was asked for my approval and given the opportunity to ask questions. If you are planning on doing such works and have external lights, the cables may need lengthening and this is an additional cost but it was very reasonable.
The director was present on many days to oversee the work being done too, this was reassuring!
A great team of people, friendly, helpful and importantly skillful so know their trade. All guarantees and paperwork provided and as the BBA are registered with the competent person's scheme, it met building regulations and didn't require me to submit a building regs application. Do check with your local authority however beforehand so they can make a note of it.
