MG Building Maintenance is a family run business based in Kings Lynn but operates throughout all of East Anglia. We are in the Property Maintenance trade and we employ skilled tradesman of every kind ranging from Plumbers to Electricians to Carpenters to many more. After I had removed the existing chimney breast cladding I was left with a rather horrible looking chimney breast with bits of the original cladding bonding still showing, blown plaster and bare brickwork. As this is the focal point of the living room I decided to get the repairs professionally done. I approached MG Building Maintenance who have done works previously for me to price for the work. The price was acceptable and a date was set for the work to commence, although this was delayed for a week due to illness. The Tradesman turned up and set about doing the job in hand laying out dust sheet prior to starting. He then tackled the job of stripping back the problem areas back to brick and ready the area for plastering which he did over the next few hours. Upon completion the area was tidied up and all the rubble and waste was cleared up and taken away. The finish is excellent and I am just waiting for the area to dry out fully prior to decorating.

Replace outer flat roof over the downstairs bathroom. Internal: Repair and renew part of the bathroom ceiling, followed by plastering and decorating.

"You have done work for us before, hence the reason for coming back to you for the recent work on the flat roof.
At point of contact the office staff were helpful, due to a variety of reasons some of the work took a little longer but all of this was explained and new appointments made.

All tradesmen involved were professional in their various skills, friendly and approachable and at the end of each operation their tidiness and clean up would make a domestic goddess jealous.

Should the need for more repairs etc. arise I would be straight back to MG to do the job."

Repair work to slate roof approx 90-100 yrs of age. Scaffolding too.

"Work completed quickly and as described/promised. Price was higher of course compared to using a smaller company - but we knew it would be and decided to use this company because of difficulty communicating with other, smaller local roofing services. Communication etc. was top rate with these guys and I would recommend them as a trustworthy, friendly company. I'm happy, it was hassle-free and a larger company has larger overheads to meet after all. I felt informed and fairly treated by the company and the roofers were reliable, friendly, approachable and the job done quickly."

I had just had a stable converted to a home office space for covid working from home, and needed the floor putting in. I had bought the materials but decided it was beyong my skills for DIY so needed skilled labour to install the floor.

"I rang for a proce to do the work and someone came round a few days later to assess the task and work out the time needed. I was sent an estimate and, as I was providing the materials, was given some ideas on quantities (to ensure no shortfall). The estimate was acceptable, so I asked the firm to proceed.

One the day, the engineer turned up at exactly the time quoted, was cheerful and got to work quickly. He had everything he needed and completed the job in good time.

On inspection, the job had been finished well. Where the wall wasn't perfectly straight, the engineer had trimmed the flooring to fit. I rated ot as 'excellent'.

Only one very small suggestion for improvement: the office could have given me the date the engineer was coming without my having to ring to ask, but I think they had this in hand because when I did ring they were able to rattle off all the plan, so this is a very minor point."

"We are very happy with the work completed. The workmen worked to a very high standard and left everywhere clean and tidy when finished no waste was left on site it was all taken away. The men were very cheerful arrived on time and got on with the work, there were a few problems that were quickly solved so no delay. Electrical inspection condition survey

"Having had difficulty in getting an electrician to do an electrical condition survey of my property, a neighbour suggested I contact MG Building Maintenance. I contacted them and after a discussion with Peter,a price and a date was agreed to come and do the survey which was within a few days of my initial communication. Miles the electrical engineer arrive at the time agreed. He started by explaining what and when he was going to do things to give minimal disruption. Any questions raised during the survey were answered as he went and at the end of the survey which took most of the morning, he explained what he had found and advised a course of action. We found the whole process very informative and extremely professional."

House heating system not working correctly. Plumber and electrician traced the problem to a faulty programmer. Programmer replaced - system working OK once more.

"I have used the plumber on previous occasions, professional in his work, explained what he'd done in a professional and friendly manner.

Once the fault had been found and diagnosed, the electrician took over and once again was professional in his work and also with a friendly manner. Following completion, he carefully explained what he'd done and also why the old component had ceased to work properly.

He then set the timings on the heating and hot water settings to my requirements.

Both tradesmen are a credit to their trade and their approach to the diagnostics and sorting out of the fault in the heating system."

Work on roof, fixing broken tiles and mending gully. As well as fixing a downpipe from gutter, which was leaking due to blockage, as this pipe went straight into the ground it was cut off at bottom and a shoe put on.
