I offer a friendly, professional service in all aspects of building and carpentry to all my customers. I take great care on delivering precise and well presented work in all areas, and only finish to a standard I would be happy with in my own home. Working closely with my customers to ensure smooth running of the job. Available for new builds, renovations, barn conversions, home improvements, roofing, and all aspects of carpentry.

New driveway and hard standing using Woburn Rumbled blocks, 14 driveway integral lights, Provision of new Soakaways, Refurbishment of existing main drain and Manhole covers. Leveling and landscaping of front garden in preparation for turf. Provision of front outside tap. Rendering (K REND) of front gable end of property.

"We have used Darren before for our rear kitchen diner Extension project and was so pleased with the outcome we booked again to complete this project.

As with our last project we find Darren and his colleagues easy to get along with and easy to discuss changes or alterations along with associated costs as the project progresses.

Always arrives on time, does a hard days work leaves the property in as clean and tidy a condition as he possible can. Is always mindful of our needs to be able to live within the property as the work progresses.

Discusses the project as it progresses and makes useful practical suggestions which benefited the overall project as we went along.

To give some impression of the size of this project and the volumes involved. 48 tons of topsoil removed/disposed of. 30 plus tons of existing driveway concrete uplifted, crushed and re used as hardcore (so moved 3 times), 20 tons of sharp sand used, 8 tons of concrete mixed for edge stones and 15 pallets of rumbled blocks laid.100 meters of external lighting cable laid and 14 sunken lights fitted.

Project ran exactly to time and came in a couple of hundred pounds under budget.

We were absolutely delighted with the outcome and would not hesitate to recommend Darren to anyone considering any type of building work. A true and honest multi skilled tradesman.

My advice for anyone considering these type of projects is try to know as best you can what you want and what you are trying to achieve before starting out. Be realistic on timescales and cost of works and allow enough lead in times for work to start and materials to be obtained. We were surprised at the length of lead in times for Bricks and Roof timbers etc when we started. We were quoted 28 weeks plus for some bricks. If you are supplying materials get them all on site if you can before the job starts else you will be caught out by some of these delays. Keep the kettle on and the tea coming !!

Single storey rear extension comprising of a shower room, toilet and Kitchen extension as well as a full kitchen refurbishment. Moving & rewiring of new fuse board and installation of numerous plug sockets.

"We were absolutely delighted with our new extension, our shower room and new kitchen that Darren & Gavin built and fitted for us.

We found them to be totally reliable, they turned up every day on time without fail, discussed and talked through all aspects of the build and explained any deviation from the plan which were very minor in our case.

They explained and agreed all costs prior to any additions that we requested as the build progressed.

The site was kept both clean and tidy as it could be and were always mindful of any impact on our neighbours when arranging deliveries and if noisy work was due to be carried out.

We found both Darren and Gavin to be very easy to talk to and friendly and would recommend them to anyone.

They are both very skilled individuals who take great pride in their work and finished everything to a very high standard.

We are having them back this year to carry out further works in our house & garden as we were so pleased with their quality of work."

Rear Garden works. Removal of old concrete pathways, shed, fencing and turf. Relay new stone patios x2 stone pathways to rear and side of bungalow. Remove and re-lay concrete pathway to side access of bungalow. Erection of new summerhouse and new concrete base. Run and supply electricity outlets to new summerhouse. Groundworks to provide new soakaway for garage roof guttering and Groundworks to level the topsoil of the garden (12 tons of topsoil required) in preparation for new lawns to be laid.

"Darren and Gavin did an excellent job for us. We were both very pleased with the outcome and the garden and patio areas were transformed. The volumes of the materials used were vast but they just got on with what needed to be done. The site was kept as clean and tidy to the point that the new patio was covered with plastic sheeting until they finished the job so that the stone slabs avoided staining etc. Their reliability could not be faulted and arrived on time every day without fail. We cannot speak highly enough of the work done for what we spent. Communication was good throughout the project and if we changed specification of products during the works costs were discussed and agreed so we knew there would be no hidden surprises and the final fees were presented to us."

Alteration of downstairs kitchen and bathroom areas of the house and construction of an outside boundary wall.

"I found our builders respectful and diplomatic; we were having quite a few alterations done, and several times we wanted to review our plans and I felt they were patient, gave us honest advice, constructive suggestions and were prepared to be flexible. The builders were here for several months on and off and fitted around pets and a busy family. They kept regular working times and were extremely conscientious about keeping things tidy, and setting themselves deadlines to get things finished. If power or water needed to be turned off, there were never any surprises for us as we were informed in advance. The builders worked through a period when we were away on our family holiday and kept the house safe. The quiet camaraderie between the builders undoubtably contributed to the positive experience for us, and since completion of the work we've appreciated the quality of our improved accommodation. Even the smallest detail had been attended to and things had been finished off properly and to a high standard. I do not hesitate to recommend."

Provided quote with breakdowns of work to be undertaken. Explained what would be done and when.
During the work provided we with daily feedback on what was being done and what was next, happy to show and explain what was being done.
Work is to a high standard and replacement materials a very good match to the existing. Over a month on from work completion and all is still excellent, high winds and lashing rain and not a single issue.

Mr Attew demolished the front porch and cleared all the rubble away. He made up a new front step for the entrance. All the soffits and barge boards were cleaned and painted. Repair work had to be undertaken at one corner. A water butt was supplied and fitted at the rear of the property.

"Mr Attew and his helper Trevor were very pleasant. They worked hard all day and they were here for five days.
They always consulted me about everything and they left everywhere clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to use them again."
