Re-instate the fence between No.28 and No.30 Hillside road. Remove damaged panels and posts and remove from site. Fit 6no 3inchx3inch posts and 5no 4ftx6ft panels to match exactly

New wooden rear gate and surround.

"Kevin replicated our existing gate using the original as a template. He then replaced the gateposts and side panels, making an excellent job. The wood was also sealed before fitting it and an anchor fitting was also added. He was extremely clean and tidy leaving the surrounding area immaculate. He kept in touch prior to doing the job and came when he said he would.
If anyone needs a tidy and excellent joiner I would totally recommend him."

Kevin installed a larch wood ranch style fence in our very uneven and sloping driveway. It was a tricky job as the old fence had to be removed and the posts were strongly cemented in the ground. The new fence had to be tied into a not too strong low breeze block wall. He overcame all obstacles and the result was a very secure and robust fence that was good to look at.

"Kevin arrived promptly and worked tirelessly to complete the job on schedule.
He was always pleasant and polite and a very tidy skilled tradesman.
The job came in under the initial competitive estimate which was a pleasant surprise in this day and age of high inflation.
Kevin had previously done a beautiful finishing job on our bathroom.
I would strongly recommend Kevin to anyone requiring quality joinery work.

Replace an old and very damaged garden gate with a new gate, build from scratch. New gate to be given one coat of wood stain.

"Kevin was easy to contact, and unlike some, turned up when agreed to initially inspect the job and agree what was to be done - that is build a new garden gate to replace the very old and damaged gate.

The work was completed and carried out as agreed in a very professional manner. Everything was tided up afterwards, including removal of the old gate for disposal.

I have now used Kevin several times to carry out joinery work in the house and garage, and would be more than happy to use him again."

"This job that was made more difficult by poor blockwork, the final result was excellent. I was really pleased with the final result and recognise the skill and attention to detail that was put into the work.

"The standard of work and trade professionalism could not be faulted. Kevin kept me informed prior to start of work and throughout. Punctual, work focused and paid attention to detail. Joinery skills were exceptional. Cleared and tidied up after him each day. Delighted with work completed ahead of time. Probably the best tradesman I have ever used. "Contacted Kevin through Trusted Traders; he got back in touch with me very quickly and arranged to visit to discuss requirements. This was done on time and as arranged. Kevin made it clear what would be needed and highlighted any considerations we should make; basically keeping us right at all times.

Kevin then performed the works as arranged and agreed. Work was done to an excellent standard and on time, without fault.

Kevin kept in touch at all times, was professional, approachable and friendly and above all, really attentive to job at hand.

Replace garden gate and section of fence.

"After our fence was terminally damaged during a recent storm, we discovered Kevin, having sought recommendations on social media.

Luckily, we made a good choice. Unlike some, Kevin actually turned up (on time!) as promised to give us a quote, which we accepted, partly because it seemed fair, and partly because he was just such a pleasant guy who gave out ‘trustworthy vibes’.

As it turns out, we made the right choice. Again, Kevin turned up when promised, and did a really super job, replacing our gate and a section of fence (basically, a fence which he constructed, rather than an off-the-shelf affair).

He worked hard all day, and even brought his own flask! (most tradesmen we’ve dealt with in the past expect a non-stop food and tea delivery service).

Kevin is clearly very particular about his work, taking great care to make everything just right, and regularly checking that he was doing exactly what we wanted. The fence he made looks set to withstand the apocalypse, and even now, we glance out of the window when passing, just to see how super it looks.

At the end of the job, he cleared everything up and left the whole area nice and tidy. He also wore overshoes any time he came into the house.

Lastly, as the cherry on the cake, the final bill was reduced from the original estimate because it hadn’t taken him as long as he had planned – what a guy!

I would highly recommend Kevin, and he is now our joiner of choice.

Supply and fit a loft ladder and new access hatch. Fix squeaky stair treads and newel posts. Frame up a cupboard under the stairs, plasterboard the wall to leave a nice finish.

"Kev came to our property to have a look at what we wanted done then sent us a quote.
He took the time to find us a suitable loft ladder and the new hatch he made is so much better than what we had.
Our electrician let us down but Kev arranged one for us at short notice to allow a ceiling light to be relocated for the hatch.
Excellent work carried out to a high standard.
Very pleased with the overall finishes.

To completely line old boiler cupboard with plywood and fit two new doors with stops and facings

"I chose Kevin Nicol to complete the work required as we had used Kevin previously and we were more than pleased with his work standard.

As usual Kevin arrived on time and set out all of his tools on dust sheets and proceeded with the task. The space we wanted lined was awkward as there were a large amount of cables and pipes running over the walls which made it challenging.

On completion Kevin cleaned up as usual and left the work area clean and tidy.

We would highly recommend Kevin for any joinery work as he is “ a true trusted tradesman”."
