Ian Lavell from Qualify Driver Education & Training provided me with development required to become an Approved Driving Instructor.

"I contacted Qualify Driver Education & Training after doing an internet search for ORDIT Trainers in my area. Ian Lavell from Qualify was quick to respond and have a conversation about what I was looking for, and how best to support me on what was going to be a 12-month journey to completing my driving instructor qualification. From our first meeting through to and including my final test Ian has been there to ensure I identified and achieved the knowledge and skills I required to qualify as an ADI. Ian’s approach to training and developing others is not just professional, he took the time to get to know me as a person and understand how I, as an individual, would benefit from his input.

Not only is Ian an excellent instructor trainer, he has a very flexible approach to running his business. To quantify this, there was an unexpected cancellation of one of my tests and Ian was quick to offer support and advice on how best to deal with this given that I had other commitments in the near future that couldn’t be moved. When an alternative was offered, Ian ensured that the development I would need beforehand was fitted around his other scheduled commitments.

To summarise, Ian and the development he has provided for me has been professional, friendly, flexible and accommodating and I would have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone looking to pursue driver development; whether it be learning to drive or to becoming a qualified driving instructor. ADI Part 3 rescue training.

"So now I can FINALLY say it… I am now a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor. What a journey to get here from my school teaching career. I could not have done this without my trainer Ian Lavell of Qualify: Driver Education and Training. He had belief in me when I didn’t even believe in myself. It just shows what a ‘Smart’ tailored training programme can do to get the best out of you!

Ian picked me up when I was on my final attempt at Part 3, having been previously with a nationwide training company and did not tailor the training to me. Ian brought out my skills as a school teacher and transferred them to the ‘classroom on wheels’.

I will be using Ian to prepare for my next Standard’s Check and any CPD going forward. There is no doubt that I would absolutely recommend Ian to anyone looking to learn to drive or train as a driving instructor. Thanks Ian, you are a legend! 🖖 Alex Lipinski, ADI- Alexcelerate Driving School."

Training for adi qualifying tests

"Ian contacted me after I made an online request. He contacted me within the time stated and arranged to meet me for a coffee and informal relaxed talk about the service he provides, which suited me perfectly.
As well as telling me about his services he also mentioned other providers which also showed be he was confident in what he does is best on the market.
After considering all my options I started training with qualify the next week.

Everything about the course I done was amazing. Very honest, reliable friendly patient and professional service. Always on hand to help me day or night, done everything to suit my needs. Couldn’t recommend enough"

"Ian has been extremely helpful and patient through out my learning journey. Not only has he managed to put up with me constantly doubting myself and my driving but also my constant swearing. He always encourage me to be positive whether it was my driving when ive had a bad day or just chatting about weekly gossip. He was more like a friend you’d see weekly as well as teaching through out the lesson. Very easy to approach and talk to. I cant thank Ian enough for putting up with me during this whole period. Very grateful to find a instructor like Ian who actually is passionate about his job and is willing to take time and teach his students. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼"

"My driving instructor Ian Lavell is a highly experienced, empathetic and highly skilled instructor and coach. He ensured I fully understood what I was doing well and what I needed to improve.

He ensured from the start that he understood my needs by asking me to complete a questionnaire enabling him to get to know how I best learn. Discussing with my parents the most appropriate number of lessons and timings. He was available to answer any questions either from myself or my parents reviewing at the beginning of each session what I had learnt and what I felt I needed to improve.

I highly recommend Ian as a driving instructor and coach. His support enabled me to pass first time without any errors.

Ian helped me through my ADI training for my part two and three test.

"Ian has been helping me over the past year to help me achieve my part two and part three ADI test , I struggle with self confidence but Ian brings the best out of you and helps you achieve your goal whilst making you feel relaxed and has personally helped me to believe in my self a lot more . Very friendly and I found it very easy to book sessions around my busy working schedule . Couldn’t recommend Ian enough ! Qualify Driver Education & Training provided me with excellent driving lessons.

"I was extremely nervous to start learning to drive and am also very shy but even from the first lesson Ian made me feel comfortable and at ease. He is an excellent instructor: professional and very dedicated but also really friendly and with a great sense of humour, so I looked forward to lessons with him. Ian is very patient and never got fed up or annoyed with just how nervous I was. He includes you in the lessons, both with what you want to focus on and then talking about how it went, so that you have a greater understanding of what you need to work on and how it is going overall. When starting something new, e.g. multi-lane roundabouts, he has diagrams to visualise what you need to do, which I found very helpful. When starting manoeuvres that I was extra nervous about, e.g. parallel parking, he was very patient and methodical so that I knew what to do and felt more confident in trying it. With Ian’s experience, support, and encouragement I knew for the first time that learning to drive was something I was capable of. I passed my test first time and happily recommend him to friends and will continue to do so."

"When I first started my driving lessons, my confidence was at a low! I was very nervous and didn’t believe I would be able to do it! Ian helped to build on that and managed to make me more confident than ever before helping me believe I was capable. If I was worried about something, we would work on it until my worries were gone! He encouraged and supported me to carry on. He helped me with my theory test and sent me links to help practice aswell as sending me a link to help support me for my driving test. I would highly recommend Ian to anyone! He is friendly, funny and very well experienced."
