I have used Ion Electrical for various jobs around my house over the last year whilst we have been doing renovations. The work initially involved replacing an osolete consumer unit with a compliant RCD based system. This work was completed promptly and it revealed a power circuit fault due to damp and corrosion in a basement area. David diagnosed the problem and when the opportunity arose during the ensuing remedial damp proofing works he again attended sote to carryout testing and renewal works. He was always helpful and quick to respond to the developing situation. I can recommend his firm for doing Landlords'' compliant electrical work.

"Ion Electrical (Scotland)Ltd was recommended by my letting agent as being reliable and cost effective in carryong out electrical testing to comply with the current Landlords' certification for electrical installations.

Messrs Ion did the initial test and demonstrated that there were shortcoming with the existing consumer board and that this required upgrading for which they duly quoted.

When they fitted the new board it was apparent that the basement power circuits were showing an earth leakage fault which was dignosed as being due to damp and corrosion in wall boxes. This problem of damp penetration was duly rectified and Messrs Ion Electrical duly carried out a restoration of the circuitry which had to be coordidated with other trades. David attended promptly when asked and carried out the remedial works effectively.
I especially appreciated that they (Ion) did not take advantage of a difficult situation by going for a full rewire but instead removed defective parts and renewed on a piecemeal basis which minimised both costs and disruption to the premises."

Run electricity from home to summer house in garden.

"Dave initially came out to assess our requirement to run electricity out from our house to a new summerhouse in the garden. We thought that it would be quite complicated due to the age of the house and position of the junction box but he allayed our fears by explaining that he would drill a hole through the wall to the back garden, lift paving stones to hide the cable and showed us exactly where it would run. He kept in touch via text to let me know when he would be able to come and do the job and was just brilliant on the day. He and his colleague didn't waste any time - they just got on with the job in hand and were done in around three hours. They cleaned up my summerhouse before they left, showed me exactly what they'd done and made sure that I knew I could call if there were any problems at all. The whole service from start to finish was absolutely professional, pleasant and totally efficient. Dave did an excellent job, all cable is hidden both indoors and out and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any electrical work. I couldn't be more pleased with the service."

Having bought a 2 bed flat in Dundee we needed advice and work done to get it to an appropriate and safe standard for our daughter and her friend. I rang ION and spoke to Dave, who, at length, explained what we needed to do and how he would go about it. He was amazing. As we live a long way away, and our daughter was clueless, Dave handled the whole thing professionally and kept in touch throughout the process. We had a heat sensor fitted in the kitchen and a fire detector in the lounge, along with the obligatory EICR and PAT tests.

"This company were exceptional and helped out with the process from start to finish. Dave even said if we needed any other help with anything to do with the flat in future, he would e happy to help.
He was polite, friendly and great at explaining what was needed done. As we live far away from the flat and our teenage daughter is living in it, he explained everything and even stayed in contact with her to say when they would be there exactly so she was prepared. She felt very comfortable with ION electrical carrying out the work in the flat which is paramount to us as parents.
The work was reasonably priced and carried out well. We are very impressed with the whole experience and will definitely use them again.

Supply and fit new consumer unit, carry out EICR,supply and install smoke/heat alarms as per regulations. Address and remedy all issues arising from the EICR checks. Also check appliances and provide PAT certification.

"Dave responded quickly to my request for quote and turned up as arranged to assess the work. After some discussion I felt that Dave had the experience and competence to do a good job for me. His quote was competitive against others that I obtained.

Smoke Detector Heat Detector EICR Certification Remedial Work for EICR Fixed bathroom light fitting

"Alan & Dave were great. Very clear and timeous communication with good advice and all with a good personable manner on the phone and by text and email.

I live in Glasgow and my rental property flat is in Dundee and they managed the whole process easily. They communicated well with my tenants who were very impressed with their manner and professionalism on the two visits to the flat to carry out the work.

I have already recommended them highly to my mum who lives in Dundee and I will be helping promote them to my friends on Facebook. I will definitely contact them for any future work no matter the size of the job.

Lamp hanging from upstairs ceiling after loft ladder fell and caused ceiling to ''shake'' + ongoing problems with flickering lights in 2 bedrooms. Lighting cable found to be burnt out at light fitting. on further investigation also found cable to be trapped underneath attic flooring. renewed cable from the first accessible position and removed faulty part. replaced dimmer switches in bedrooms for normal switch.

"Sorely tempted to give a terrible review but for purely selfish reasons.... just so that when we next need an electrician, Ion Electrical are less likely to be busy and not able to fit us in!
In all honesty, we could not have asked for a better service. The job was completed within just a few of hours of phoning to report the problem. The workmen were friendly, polite, explained everything to us and the options available to us. They also vacuumed up the area (including the bits of plaster which had fallen from the ceiling previously for which they were not responsible for). Finally, the work was completed to a high standard and the charge was very reasonable.
I would definitely recommend Ion Electrical and am sure I'll be a repeat customer! 😊"

Replacement of heating system throughout flat and installation of additional sockets

"I cannot praise Allan and his team highly enough for the work that they carried out for me recently. I had my entire heating system replaced and Allan came up with fantastic ideas logistically in terms of where the new system could go and what I required to efficiently heat the property. I ended up purchasing the system myself and asked Allan to install it. Allan is extremely knowledgeable in his trade and explains things thoroughly before, during and after the work is carried out and completed.

Allan came out twice to provide advice in terms of whether or not the system I purchased was suitable and where they could be installed. He was also regularly in touch by phone. I was particularly impressed at how quickly a date was fixed for installation and Allan and his apprentice Jamie arrived on time and carried out the works to a very high standard with no mess left behind and took the trouble to stay behind to help me set up the smart features on the system. He also contacted me the following day to make sure that everything was working as expected. The overall price was very reasonable and I will definitely use Ion Electrical again.

"Allan and Jamie were great. They moved what needed to be moved to start work and replaced it after. Explained everything and listened to my requirements. They were very tidy and any mess made was cleared away. Not just knowledgeable and professional but cheerful too.
Jamie the apprentice did a very good job whilst being supervised by Allan. A great team and and great job done.
