The agreement was for the installation of solar PV system. The failed to arrive on the installation date and has since continued to retain my money. The company removed my solar thermal panel without permission and also without permission inserted 16 non MCS compliant roof hooks (for the PV panels) into the roof. The hooks left the tiles raised and with screws coming out of the side of the rafters rather than in the middle.

"Avoid this disgraceful company. I would strongly recommend avoiding this one man company and its sole director.

• The company entered into an agreement and took a £3,000 deposit but failed to arrive on the installation date;
• The company represented that they were HIES members but failed to follow their code;
• They took a 50% deposit where HIES mandates that the deposit should not exceed 25%;
• They failed to register the job with HIES for deposit and consumer protection;
• They failed to provide pre-contract information or cancellation rights information;
• They issued the formal proposal document two days before the scheduled install date;
• They failed to return the deposit and that is now subject to a chargeback claim;
• The director removed my solar thermal panel and inserted non MCS roof hooks into my roof without permission;
• Their director dishonestly created a backdated receipt to claim that the deposit was the removal of a solar thermal panel;
• Their scaffolders damaged my property and the business refused to provide their insurance details;
• They presented their false and backdated receipt to HIES and the banks to fraudulent represent the work was completed when it was not – they did this to defend the chargeback for their failure to provide the goods and services;
• Their director published my personal data on eBay and on the internet; and
• They failed to respond professional to my formal complaints.

This company is unfit to be a Trustmark, HIES or MCS member and it should have its licence terminated. The director should be investigated by Trading Standards and prosecuted for a range of potential criminal offences.

2 solar arrays totalling 8.6kw inverter power with 24 435w panels. HICONICS hybrid inverter/battery system for the house (5kw inverter) with 16 panels. Growatt 3.6 inverter on outbuilding (3.6kw inverter) with 8 panels. Bird guard and scaffolding.

"I am blown away with my installation and generating far more solar than originally anticipated. My installation was completed just over three weeks ago on 10/11 and I have already generated 192.50 KW/h (bear in mind my quotation indicated estimated generation of 102 KW/h for the whole of November!)

To top it all off my daily energy bill has reduced from an average of £6-8 per day to between £0-2 and considering the time of year that is extremely impressive.

'Home Solar' handled the whole installation in a very professional manner and completed the job within the time specified, there was minimal disruption to the home and electrical supply during the whole process. Tbh the whole process was completed without a hitch and I couldn't have asked for any more.

Scaffolding was erected a few days prior to the install and promptly removed about 4 days after commissioning just to ensure the system was working correctly. The scaffolders ensured no damage was done to the driveway by adding support shoes under the beams to eliminate the risk of damaging the paving.

I am just so happy with the job and so glad I went with 'home solar'. They helped me get a fantastic system on budget and were far cheaper than all of the solar firms local to me who were asking for far far too much besides offering less powerful systems and with cheaper components.

I would happily recommend 'Home Solar' to my friends and family and to everyone else online.
