"The sales team were excellent, the post sales was appalling. I appreciate when you have a difficult buyer as we did that you are 'piggy in the middle' but I was really disappointed with their handling of our sale.
At the end of the day we were paying the fee and basically I felt like I did the majority of the negotiating over post sale issues with no really tangible sense of advice or support.

I had to constantly chase for answers and no urgency or forward thinking was shown even when the sale was about to fall through. When I chased I was always replied with 'oh we were just about to contact you'.

There was a complete lack of enthusiasm to try help us when we were trying to move the sale forward and come to a sensible resolution. It would have been nice to see some 'I can see your sale is in trouble, let me put you at the top of my list' negotiating skills rather than the laissez faire attitude shown of sit back, wait for me to chase you and then give me an answer that you've been sitting on. Basically I found the post sales management to be a glorified email conduit between ourselves and our buyer.

Based upon the way our sale was dealt with (and not upon the difficult buyer we had) I would not recommend ocean purely on the after sales support."

Thank you for your comments of which we note and will take on board in future cases. I am sorry that you feel the way you do as I know that our Move Manager worked extremely hard to ensure you were constantly kept up to date.

It is always difficult to assess whether a client prefers to be contacted by email or by phone. When the vast majority of contact from a client comes via email then we tend to reply in the same context.

It was not necessarily a difficult buyer but a difficult renegotiation given that there was what appeared to be structural issues with the property and some conflicting survey reports.
Looking at the extensive file notes I can see that constant correspondence between us, you and your buyer has all been recorded so I am surprised to learn of your dissatisfaction. That said we gracefully take all the comments you have made on board. Our customers are our business and being good is not good enough - we intend to be exceptional at what we do and we will do everything we can prevent this in the future. Thank you for using Ocean.
