"Richwards were by far the best estate agents we have come across. They were really helpful and at no point did we feel that we were being pressurised on any point of our purchase. I honestly felt as though Richwards had both ours and the sellers best interests at heart. Being a local village estate agents made them a cut above the rest and for the first time they dispelled the common perception of the typical 'estate agents'! We can't sing their praises enough and they will be used to sell our property when the time comes."

Four bedroomed detached house in village.
 

"After viewing and comments made by vendor plus general state of property Richwards were emailed to ask the vendors be made aware of need to comply with legal requirement to leave property ‘clean and empty’. Agents replied they had conveyed message, stating vendors were ‘a lovely couple who would not intend to do anything other than the acceptable thing’. However on moving in it was plain this had not been so we had been deceived. Deep and comprehensive cleaning was needed, rubbish was left. We understand the meaning of caveat emptor, and that the agent is acting for the seller, but we feel that Richwards did not act honestly and were offhand when we registered our disgust at the state of the property on completion. We were treated with indifference."

We are disappointed to receive this negative feedback, as our rapport throughout the purchase process with [the client] was excellent. Whilst we have every sympathy that the house may not have been left in the condition that they would have expected upon legal completion, the agent cannot really be held responsible and this was very politely highlighted on their visits to the office after the event.
