Reputations are not built overnight
In Referenceline's view, this track record is more important than the ratings. Don't be impressed by a few old reviews which may not be representative.  Look for firms with a commitment to asking for feedback - good or bad - from their customers.  We recommend that you look for a track record of ratings and reviews in at least 9 of the last 12 months and that you should not be too concerned about an isolated negative review.  Ask the firm for their side of the story.

Code of Practice
Businesses have a legal responsibility to treat you fairly, but it's often hard to know what questions to ask or what standards to expect.  They are the experts and you should be able to rely on them to help you make decisions.  These questions explain the commitments that this business has made to follow a code of practice and they will help you understand what you have a right to expect.

You can see how many customers have said "Yes" in answer to each question, but please don't expect 100% in every case.  Nobody's perfect and some customers may not be completely sure about the answer.  It's more important that you understand these questions and discuss them with the business so that you both agree what good service means for you.  A responsible business will be happy to explain the details to you and it's always better to clarify these points upfront to avoid misunderstandings later on.

Customer Review

The property is a 3 bedroomed terraced house built around 1970 in Rosyth , Fife. It has a small extension to the kitchen and a compact rear garden enclosed by a wooden fence with a shed , drying green and patio looking out to a grassed area.

"This has been my first venture into being a landlord and i was aware it could be quite a daunting procedure, i felt that i would prefer to have someone manage the situation for me and Streets Ahead were recommended by an acquaintance with some knowledge of the market. I wanted to ensure that everything was legal, above board and safe and Vanessa Mcgregor who mainly dealt with me from the start immediately impressed me with her knowledge , professionalism and also her friendly manner when pointing out some of the many details which i either had overlooked or hadn't considered , she even offered much valued opinions on decor and carpeting which i duly took on board. I also found myself in total agreement about her opinions on choice of tenant and after only a brief period of advertising a tenant was found with a family who seemed ideal and indeed have just signed for another six months lease.
There may be some room for improvement somewhere in this company but so far i can't see what they could have done to make my life as a landlord any easier, they have always been on the other end of the phone for me or have gotten back to me as soon as possible if iv'e had any queries. Granted my present tenant seems to be a sensible reliable woman and iv'e had no issues whatsoever, but that was down to Vanessa's recommendation in the first place.
In short i would have no hesitation in recommending Streets Ahead to any other prospective (or otherwise) landlords ."
