"Buyers have to register with their financial adviser to gain access to open days, which I know is against the estate agent code of practice. They also do not respect data protection law - on one of the forms I filled in when buying I specifically asked that my details not passed on to 3rd parties yet I've received several spam phone calls and mailshoots from 3rd parties."

On both occasions we have found them to be informative, willing to help us find the ideal property and knowlegable on the current market in that area. "The manager in particular was a great normal guy, not a commission hungry suited type. He gave me a great deal and got a far better price than I expected. The whole team were good and gave me confidence that the property would sell.

My buyer used the in-house solicitor. I had been advised by a friend who had used them for her sale to make sure I didn't sign up with them as they weren't very good. This proved to be the case and there were endless frustrations because there didn't seemed to be a named solicitor dealing with my buyer. They took ages to respond and then would raise last minute queries because they hadn't read the paperwork properly."
