An extended 1950''s semidetached property in a peaceful tree lined road approximately one mile northeast of Caversham centre and 30 minute walk from Reading Station. The property occupies established and secluded gardens in the region of 150ft with detached garage. The two-bedroom property had a walk-through lounge dining room and a separate large kitchen that had been built as an extension.

"Excellent service, property was on market within a week of first contact. I was expertly advised on price, marketing, and use of local solicitors. Being a remote customer, I required more help than usual from House Clearance, Energy efficiency survey, EICR inspection and a supplemental Building survey. All these services were provided promptly and efficiently and at a sensible cost.
The whole sale process was seamless from first marketing in early August to an offer being accepted by the end of the month. Completion was drawn out, for a no chain property, to mid-December, but I was kept well informed of the ongoing saga.
The whole staff were excellent, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Farmer & Dyer to other prospective clients.
Farmer and Dyer were chosen to market the property based on personal recommendation and their knowledge of the Caversham property market.
I was not let down."

"I was extremely unhappy with the service I received for Farmer & Dyer especially Damian Farmer. If I hadn't of paid for surveys, solicitors and planning permission etc I would have backed out because they were so dreadful to me.
I was a cash buyer and ready to exchange, just before exchange the owner sadly died so it then went through probate, I was extremely patient throughout. When I did speak to the agent every few months to see how progress was going I was telling them things they didn't know because they didn't keep in contact with the vendors solicitor so I had more information than they did, this was very disappointing.

The fences blew down in the storms and I received a quotes of £6,500 to repair some sections and replace others. When I viewed the house all the fences were in a good condition so replacing them was not in my budget when I made the offer. The agent said they wouldn't approach their client about it because there was nothing they would do and they wanted me to back out so they could relist it for more money.

I asked if I could go over to the house and see if the boiler worked or have a Gas safety certificate because the boiler had been off for well over 8 months (over a very cold winter too). I was told no I was not their client and they didn't have to do anything for me.

At a later date they told me again they wanted me to back out so they could relist it for more money.
Due to their attitude the whole process was extremely stressful when there was no need for it to be.
My offer was more than fair considering the dreadful state of the house, they didn't have any other offers, I was a cash buyer. I love the house however I do feel I was treated very unfairly. I will never use Farmer and Dyer again

We act for the client and take their instructions - interestingly their feedback was rated as 10/10 and they commented that our service and negotiation were ‘complete & exemplary’ which perhaps put the validity of your comments in to a more reasonable perspective.

The only reason I slightly marked down was a slight reduction in communication/information when George left/ Lars came on board. I’m sure this was probably teething/ settling in issues as Lars was always friendly but just not quite as on it as George had been.
