Customer Review

Protective coating added to exterior walls after repairs carried out.

"On 5 October 2018 - concerns raised with Customer Services about where scaffolding would be put up on and over neighbour’s garden. Scaffold tower put up on their land anyway! Another neighbour had access to his garage blocked with scaffolding. He is now saying that the scaffolding firm has damaged his garage roof and that there a hole which is allowing water in. He has tried calling Homeshield, but they have not responded. He also remarked that the place had been left looking like a “pigsty” and I agreed.
Found that scaffolding blocked the satellite signal, so have been without TV service for the length of the job. Customer Services made casual and off-hand remarks that this would happen when I queried it. No prior information about this when job was commissioned.
No upfront information about the need for the crew to have access to water and electricity. Customer Services mentioned this in passing. Nothing is written about this requirement in any of the glossy brochure or paperwork sent confirming work. This needs to be stated as part of the job.
On first day of work, had to leave garage door open for many hours before crew arrived to allow them access to water and electricity. I was unable to be at home. The tap in the garage had not been turn off properly and found a wet floor on my arrival home.
As I am on water meter, how much water has been used? This is a hidden cost and should have been explained when the work was commissioned.
On completion the site was to have been left clean and tidy. This was not the case – old cream paint flakes surrounded the property, my path, garden, and over the community courtyard (front & back) and neighbour's garden. Crew foreman (Ryan) told me that because the ground was wet, they could not be removed! It has taken me two hours to clean up the mess left behind. Weeks later, still sweeping up old paint flakes which the wind is blowing off the roof.
On inspection of the house, have found that there is a line of paint on the brickwork around the house where masking tape was used and the paint has come through. There is paint on the community courtyard block paving and my path.
One of my garden lights has been broken – apologies were given, but still not acceptable.
Once again found water over the garage floor where the tap had not been turned off.
Seems to be a lack of respect and carelessness for customer’s property. This has been an expensive job and I am very disappointed."
