Reputations are not built overnight
In Referenceline's view, this track record is more important than the ratings. Don't be impressed by a few old reviews which may not be representative.  Look for firms with a commitment to asking for feedback - good or bad - from their customers.  We recommend that you look for a track record of ratings and reviews in at least 9 of the last 12 months and that you should not be too concerned about an isolated negative review.  Ask the firm for their side of the story.

Good Practice
Businesses have a legal responsibility to treat you fairly, but it's often hard to know what questions to ask or what standards to expect.  They are the experts and you should be able to rely on them to help you make decisions.  These questions explain the commitments that this business has made to follow a code of practice and they will help you understand what you have a right to expect.

Charges: 98%
Before starting work, did the firm explain the charges including labour, materials, callout & VAT (as appropriate)?

Timing: 100%
Before starting work, did the firm explain when the work was expected to start and finish?

Payment: 96%
Before starting work, did the firm explain how to pay (e.g. cash, cheque, etc.)?

Reliable: 99%
During the work, did the firm keep their promises, explaining and agreeing any changes about the work, costs or timing where necessary?

Invoice: 84%
On completion, did the firm give you an invoice showing the cost of materials, labour and VAT?

Guarantee: 81%
On completion, did the firm give you a guarantee for a specified amount of time, or usage (where applicable)?
You can see how many customers have said "Yes" in answer to each question, but please don't expect 100% in every case.  Nobody's perfect and some customers may not be completely sure about the answer.  It's more important that you understand these questions and discuss them with the business so that you both agree what good service means for you.  A responsible business will be happy to explain the details to you and it's always better to clarify these points upfront to avoid misunderstandings later on.

Re-shaped lawn. Dug out existing borders and replaced with sanitised soil. Planted a wide range of trees, shrubs, plants and hedging. Added a new pathway to garden shed. Covered entire planted area with wood chips/bark.

"We chose Flora Gardening for the expertise of the owner, Ionut Pasare.

The services do not come cheaply, but we were landscaping a previously unloved garden and planting a wide range of tress, shrubs, hedging and so forth and wanted to ensure that the plants would be appropriate for the setting - a large garden with a lot of tree shading.

Choice of suitable plants was clearly important and we trusted Flora Gardening to be able to provide the necessary level of expertise to meet this requirement.

The work was carried out over a number of months and to a very high standard and we are very happy with the final results."

Dig trench, remove roots, lay down weed membrane and install root barrier

"It was a pleasure to have Flora Gardening undertake the work for us. Ionut responded to correspondencs promptly and we talked over what needs to be done and is flexible to work around our budget. We were considering whether to transfer our clumping bamboo into planters but decided to have root barrier installed instead. His team is professional, informing me what there are doing, updating us along the way and tidied up before they left."

Total garden transformation. Several patios, pathways, raised flower beds, flowering plants and shrubs for all seasons. Continued garden maintenance.

"Ionut and his team have totally transformed both front and rear gardens. Initially, they removed old greenhouses, sheds and slabbed garden area along with dated patio and fencing.

Beautiful patio areas, pathways and raised flower beds were subsequently erected. Flowering shrubs, static garden furniture, etc, throughout both gardens give colour over all the seasons. There are now several beautiful and tranquil seating areas in both gardens The team continues to maintain the gardens to an exceptionally high standard. I recommend the team for any garden work. They are knowledgeable, experienced, trustworthy and friendly."

Garden maintenance over the whole of 2023

"Always professional and polite and have done a brilliant job in our garden over the last year. It was a bit neglected a year ago, but was made a joy to be in again. The winter tidy and fruit tree/bush pruning left the garden in a great way, ready for this new year. It is a bit costly, but I hope we can continue to have Flora Gardening help us look after our garden going forward."

Work includesgeneral tidying, weeding beds, trimming, shaping hedges, (2 separate hedges, several metres long and high). They work hard and copmpetently. They are not cheap, but I believe they give value for money over the many times they have worked for me.

"I have dealt with Flora Gardening for a few years, I have always been happy with the results of their work. While they usually come to do an agreed service, the actual workers are approachable if I need a specific requirenment, they will do it."

Team:
I normally deal with Ionut Pasare, always courteous, easy to talk to. Unfortunately I do not remember the names of the workers who actually do the job, but I am very happy with them.

various landscaping jobs trim large beech hedges lopped trees and reduced height general maintenance of our garden.

"Ionut and has team have truly transformed our garden. They have done various landscaping jobs, trimmed our large beech hedges, lopped trees all in addition to the general maintenance of our garden.

The timing is always agreed in advance with a description of what they will be doing. The team are polite, hard working and their attention to detail is second to none.

I would highly recommend them for any garden project."

Clearing out old plants and many weeds in borders, replanting with new plants, edging and tidying up grass by re-seeding.

"I am very pleased with the work Flora Gardening did for me. Ionut responded to my enquiry quickly and came out to have a look and a chat to agree exactly what was needed. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently and also, to a very high standard. I was at work most of the time the boys were working but when I did see them they were friendly and polite. Overall, I would highly recommend Ionut and Flora Gardening :)"

Advice about garden design, new plants chosen and installed, newly created flower beds, turfs laid, ground cleared and liner put down before laying of gravel, trimming of hedges, garden waste disposal and general garden maintenance.

"We've been delighted with all the work carried out by Flora Gardening. Ionut Pasare made an excellent impression on his first site visit, and his communication since then has been first class. All the gardeners who have worked here over a number of weeks have been extremely hardworking, easy to have around and very pleasant to deal with. We've really enjoyed having them here and seeing what an amazing difference they can make in a short period of time. Before hiring them we read a lot of online reviews, some of which mentioned the price being quite high for the services provided, but in our opinion they're worth every penny. You get what you pay for, and with Flora Gardening you get a superb, professional service. The gardeners are clean and tidy, always leave the garden looking neat and well cared for, and are very willing to assist with any jobs we want to have done. Ionut's horticultural knowledge means he can advise and choose plants that sit well in their surroundings, and we've been very happy with everything he's suggested for our garden. We can't recommend them highly enough, they really are terrific at what they do."
