Customer Review

DPC throughout, rot on joists below ground level. Replastering throughout on ground floor level. Replacement timbers were to be ''treated''.

"I cannot fault the workmen I met or the work I saw completed. They were all helpful, friendly and accomodating. Everything seemed fine until an outbreak of wet-rot infested below ground level and through the masonery. I would have expected that 'treated wood' especially by a company which has been in existance for as long as Preserva CSS, would have protected against the infestation but my guarantee was null and void. I believe this to be a misrepresentation."

Dear David,

We have already tried to clarify this situation in great detail on other platforms and provided details for our industry trade association for you to obtain independent advice, but unfortunately you have again posted comments here which are inaccurate.

As you yourself have said in other reviews, the recent problem was not a recurrence of the Wet Rot we treated in 2019, but an outbreak of Dry Rot originating from next door, which obviously could not have been foreseen at the time of our original works.

Whilst we understand your frustration over this, as explained previously Dry Rot is a different problem requiring different treatment - most importantly the eradication of moisture sources which trigger/feed an attack. As such it is clearly stated in the T&C's all clients agree to prior to commencement of any works and on our warranty certificates that cover cannot be provided for a Dry Rot attack emanating from an adjoining building, as neither the homeowner nor ourselves have any control over the conditions within those properties.
