Move from one site to: 1 house over 100 miles away 1 flat 1 store and onward delivery initially every day over a 1 week period

"The people in this company are excellent and very committed. I highly recommend them all. These service standards are a rare find these days. Also, everything arrived at the correct one of 3 possible locations and nothing was broken- quite an achievement!

The office team is highly knowledgeable, great communicators and very caring.

The directors are also strong communicators and wise counsellors. They got involved with some transaction advice which they didn't need to give but it was very wise and made a big difference all round and secured our purchase property, bringing important certainty for us.

James led his removal team every day for a week with extreme hard work himself over a period of stifling heat and then pouring rain. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He even remembered where the shelves had been in a wardrobe after he had masterminded it being carried (mainly by him)up a staircase and over a newel post. His team was prompt and reliable, and despite it being over 100 miles away, both his vans were waiting outside our new house when we arrived just after completion.

The job was to pack the contents of a 4 bedroom house, store over the weekend and unload over 2 days into a smaller house not far away.

"We had the A team of Barrie, Chris, Bradley and Reece to move my daughter and I and an awful lot of stuff. They were very pleasant, helpful and packed everything with the utmost care. It must have been very tiring, lifting and carrying so many boxes up and down stairs, but the team were cheerful throughout. There was a problem getting 2 large chests of drawers up the stairs, but they didn't give up, just thought about it and worked out a solution. We were very impressed with the kindness they showed and the humour too."

"Excellent service from start to finish. Booking the removal service was easy and all the staff were extremely helpful. My parents were moving from their family home to an apartment on the 3rd floor of a mansion block. They had an upright piano which required moving. At the last minute we had to put everything into storage for one month

"The whole team were amazing. Initially my mum dealt with Lorraine in the office and she was so patient and accommodating and kindly dealt with my mum by post and on the phone. This made the process extremely easy.

The packers and movers were extremely friendly, approachable and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they were a delight to deal with.

The service was efficient and extremely professional"

Our move was local to Purley, from an end of a terrace with basement and loft to a 4 bedroom house.

"We would like to express our thanks for your firm's hard work in moving us locally in Purley on 1st October. We appreciated your patience with our particular situation and ingenuity in tackling the piano and large sofa which proved to be an unexpected challenge. The extra boxes on the day for last minute items came in handy too. Waiting time at the destination was utilised for door-knocking to advise neighbours your vehicle would need to take up a narrow access road for unloading. The unload was well resourced and progressed smoothly. All in all a very good service indeed - thank you."

The move involved moving a 4 bedroom, 3 reception room house over 200 miles and included a piano and all packing, which included many pictures, a lot of china and glass and a lot of books. Also moved were the contents of a workshop, including a lathe and also a model railway baseboard.

"The whole process from quotation to completion was very efficient and professional, with everything fully explained. The staff were very polite and helpful, worked extremely hard in very hot weather, and we had no problem in getting things put where we wanted them, and getting last minute items set aside whilst the main packing proceeded.

We were very satisfied with the whole experience and there was no breakages at all in the very extensive amount of china and glass. We had one picture glass cracked (there were probably some 100 or so framed pictures) and some minor damage to one item of furniture, which the the company dealt with via their insurers to our satisfaction.

We would definitely recommend F Smith to others."

I was moving from our longstanding family home to a new build. The new property was delayed and in the end I required to go into temporary accommodation and put my belongings into storage. F Smith and son dealt with my change of circumstances very professionally and promptly.

"F Smith and son were excellent in every respect.
I moved into storage and three months later into a new build.
This was stressful, and made more so when I suffered a close family bereavement on the day I moved out of our long term family home.
The staff were extremely sensitive, seeking to work as quickly and quietly as possible.

Communications with the office were prompt and accurate and all the staff on all four days of moving out and in were very professional, pleasant, hard working, careful .
They took care with packing and I have not had any breakages, they dealt with a wet weather day very well, and were respectful of the new build property.

Move from a maisonette to a 4 bed house. 10 min drive away 2 vans 1 large sofa 1 sofa bed 1 King bed They had to get the furniture down 2/3 flights of narrow stairs Sofas had to go over a balcony and through the garden

"The three guys turned up on time, and were very friendly. They instantly put us at ease in terms of taking apart furniture, removing it and assembling in the new property.
The process was a lot quicker than we anticipated (although they may say differently!)
They boxed up our furniture and clothing efficiently and it was well organised.
On the whole, we had a really positive moving experience and this was definitely because the process was smooth. Their humour and Friendliness helped the process massively. Thank you.

The move was from a two bed flat to a three bedroom semi detached house. The new house was a new build property so there were no requirements for large white goods as these were already included. There was however furniture such as cabinets and bunk beds plus chest of drawers.

"What a couple of movers! On the day of the move the two man team arrived early and were so polite and quick but at the same time took great care with all our goods. We didn’t pay for packing as we had completed this ourselves, however as we were just finishing off the last few bits on the day and they both made boxes up and helped us to pack, it was only two boxes but we honestly felt that nothing was too much trouble.
It was obvious that the two chaps were comfortable in their work because nothing fazed them and there was no pressure or stress from them at all. I have a lot of valuable paintings and they handled them all as if they were their own.
When we arrived at the new house things were made easier for them as we asked that they place all the boxes in the garage and only the bunk beds and double mattress and our clothes had to go in to the house. They each took time to lay new protective floor coverings down on the brand new carpets, and they were very careful not to mark the walls.
I noticed when I went into the garage that they had placed boxes on top of a wooden TV stand I had, but had taken the consideration to cover the unit with a collapsed thick cardboard box protecting it from possible scratches. They rebuilt the bunk beds and again took great care in protecting the walls and carpet.
We moved from SW London to Southeast Kent and they arrived at 0830 and were completely finished by 2:30pm with no breakages or issues what so ever.
I used a different removal firm once before and it was awful and so I had my concerns, however F Smith & Sons restored my faith and I would recommend anyone looking to move to look no further than their website. I would without hesitation use them again."

Move from 3 bed to 4 bed house about a mile away. Complicated by major delays from solicitors at the bottom of the chain causing severe delays during the day.

"The process and support from the first phone call to the last box being delivered was excellent. Everyone we dealt with was polite and helpful. The process was clear and transparent. Other companies appeared to say one thing and when looking at their documentation there was different information.
On moving day the team were really helpful and a joy to deal with. They were super fast and checked everything with us.
Our move was significantly delayed due to others in the chain. We loaded with both the office and team on the van and they stayed to get us in and even got extra help. The team couldn’t help with the delays but they helped us get in with the least fuss.
The company was not the cheapest but for us the money was extremely well spent. Thanks to all.

I required a full packing and removal service

"The removers arrived at 8.00am on the Thursday and packed all day being very careful not to damage any item. They packed the lorry with what they could that day and took it to their secure storage facility over night. On Friday they completed the packing and then drove to my new house 60 miles away and were there before the vendors had moved out. They waited until vendors had left which was a couple of hours and then unpacked the lorry putting up the beds and placing the marked boxes in the correct rooms making it much easier for us to sort out. The three removers Ian, Barry and Aiden were really amiable and made the move which can be stressful very enjoyable. F Smith and sons were recommended to us by my daughter who moved from London to Gloucester a few years ago and I would recommend them to anyone moving home."

"A fantastic, professional removal team! From the home survey, admin team, packing and movers the while team were polite, friendly and professional.
We had the full packing service so Lee arrived the day before the move and was very friendly and organised. Everything was well packed and labelled.
On moving day Dave, John, Martin and Louis arrived early and once again were friendly and professional. We even left our property well ahead of time thanks to their hard work!
Despite some difficulty getting into our new home the guys were understanding, helpful and flexible.
