4 bedroom house local move (only 10 miles). As we live in tied accommodation and were moving for my husband''s work we were not paying for the move ourselves.

"Every time we move we have to get 3 quotes, as our moves are paid for by my husband's work. I've always wanted to move with Britannia but we have to go with the lowest quote and this was the first time in 4 moves that Britannia were the cheapest. The representatives from Britannia have always been professional and helpful when providing quotes.

The team did an amazing job and it was our smoothest move yet. We had no damages at all and they made sure we had everything ever where we wanted in the new home. The team were friendly and accommodating of our four children. Having wanted to move with Britannia for some time, our experience certainly didn't disappoint."

"Competitive price. On time on day of collection. Extremely courteous and very professional. 2 days later returned to new address again on time. Once more professionally unloaded and always friendly. Highly recommend Leatherbarrows - moving is stressful but these guys were a pleasure. Always they were wiling and nothing seemed to be too much trouble."

Collection of a few items of furniture, boxes and other household goods from an address in Dorset, storage for a few weeks, and then delivery to an address in Newcastle upon Tyne.

"Found it hard to get reasonable quotes for a part load move from Dorset to Newcastle. Leatherbarrows gave a reasonable quote in that they proposed storing the items free of charge and then delivering them to us when they were next coming up north.
Items were collected on the day requested. There was then a slight glitch in that a few weeks later they said they would bring the items and then had to cancel that visit. It was rearranged for a few weeks after that�so a bit longer than we had expected. Delivery men very professional and careful with things, and uncomplaining when they had to take heavy items to the second floor of our house!"

With a move half way across the country, working with the company to align delivery dates with another client saved us over a third of the cost.

"The team at Britannia were fantastic. From the office staff to delivery crew, everyone was polite, professional and very helpful.
Even though we�d been speaking for a while, I was only able to officially give less than 24 hours notice due to late exchange of contracts. The team were still sat there 9am sharp the very next day to collect all our belongings. Working on one of the hottest days of the year, they loaded us in only a few hours before getting on their way. They couldn�t have been more accommodating. Went without a hitch. Would definitely use again. Fantastic company"

Move into store and redelivery

"The initial visit by the representative was reassuring in the standard to expect.
The team who moved us out were very professional and carried out protection to our home and furniture.
Later after being in storage for some weeks although given three weeks notice they were not able to meet our delivery requirements which was most inconvenient to us and we had to wait a further week.
Prior to the delivery date I phoned the office to confirm the time the removal vehicle would arrive, told 9 to 9.30 they arrived at 9.50.
We advised the driver that we had had the whole house carpeted the previous day and would they put in place all protections that had been previously done, this was not done and we had to request further coverings and no door coverings were provided.
We had expected all our furniture to arrive in one load! but it did not in fact when they completed emptying two pallets we were advised that they had to go back to the depot to collect three more.
But to add a further shock we�re told they had to do another job for someone else before returning with our furniture."

In regards to the delay in arrival, we regret that we there was a slight delay in this. I am also sorry that the delivery crew did initially fall short of providing adequate protection for you. Our crews are always happy to provide increase the level of protection until the customer is satisfied.
In respect of your request for your ideal delivery date from store, we always try to accommodate this, however during busy months, such as August, it can be more difficult to organise this around other customers prior bookings. We were happy to arrange this as close your ideal date as we could.
In regards to the delivery, this was operated this way due to your delivery address being close to our storage warehouse. The vehicle we used required us to make 2 short journeys to complete your delivery of your goods as you had 5 storage containers in store with us. To confirm, the crew were tasked with another job on this day but not until after yours was finished and completed.
Again apologies that you were not satisfied in some areas of your removal, however it was good to see that you were happy with the sales and support and also the packing and handling. All the best.

Move 1.5 hours away, pack and move. Lots of stuff considering house moving from quite small!

"Was a little surprised at the cost initially, but on comparison with another firm the quote was significantly better. Plus as it turned out it was worth every penny as the team were unfaultable.

Packing was thorough, no losses no breakages. Staff were at all times polite, good spirited and took the vast degree of stress out of moving house.

I would not hesitate in recommending them."

Three-day move from Berkshire to Durham. One day to pack fragile items, take apart beds and load, one day to travel and one-day to unload and assemble beds.

"Although they arrived later than stated Craig and Danny worked flat out to pack and load our house by the end of the day. Nothing was too much for them. On the day of moving in they arrived on time and again quickly unloaded all our boxes and furniture everything being put in the correct room. We still have a few boxes to unpack, though we have unpacked all the fragile items, and there was nothing broken.
All packing material, including wrapping paper were taken by the movers to reuse. Any boxes we had not unpacked when they left will be collected.
We were very happy with the service provided and would happily have Danny and Craig from Leatherbarrows Britania move us again. They helped take a lot of stress out of what can be a stressful situation."

Our move was cross country. We packed the house ourselves and had a 3 day move.

"Andy and Lewis gave me confidence that the move was going to be okay. There was a late change in dates which meant I was struggling to find Friday availability anywhere. Andy was able to offer me a Thursday and a delivery Wednesday afternoon and finish Thursday the following week. As it turned out this was fantastic as the sale completion was held up over a Bank Holiday weekend and we didn't actually complete the purchase till the Tuesday afternoon.
The loading team arrived when they were expected. All were very helpful and efficient. They did the job in under 3 hours, there were 4 of them.

The delivery team arrived on the Wednesday afternoon as indicated and worked to get as much off the lorry as possible by 5pm. They came back Thursday morning and finished the job. There were 2 of them. They had 2 containers on the lorry, so it was very long.
I didn't get all the names, but they were all polite, helpful, good guys."

We moved from Dorset to Gloucestershire with a toddler - we had the packing service from the movers which meant we could live in our house as normal right up until the day before we moved.

"The initial consultation at the house was incredibly informative as we hadn't used a removal company before. The communication with the company was excellent on the run up to the move even though our move date kept changing. The movers were polite and incredibly hard working, and considerate of our neighbours at both ends when parking the lorry. They packed up the house, drove 3hrs and unpacked the whole thing at the other end in only 2 days!"

Moving from bungalow detached to a semi detached, with large double garage local about 12 miles.

"The removal was a little delayed due to the Completion taking longer due to our buyers Solicitor. The men were presentable and worked very hard carrying some heavy boxes and items such as a large cooker which we asked to be put in the double garage as we can not use it currently. They cleared the bungalow quickly though but when it came to unpacking the other end we have a mix of household items with garage tools which were meant to be stored down one side opposite the garage/garden stuff, so slightly annoying. As far as we know there seems to be no breakages a small dent in a chest freezer we noticed but we took a lot of fragile items in our car and also hired a small van for garden plants, so as far as estimating the lorries then what was sent would have not been enough! However on the whole we are pleased we chose Leatherbarrows and thankful we got moved at last"

Collection of house contents for storage over two days was satisfactory. However, delivery of house contents was not so good. The contract had stated contents would be delivered on two consecutive days but both containers arrived.

"It was evident that the whole day was rushed and despite labelling boxes, nothing was put in the correct rooms. It was still muddy from the recent snow and many boxes were wet and items of furniture muddy. I heard the men saying that they wanted to get back to Bournemouth and it was apparent. When I came to unpack many boxes marked �fragile� were under heavier boxes meaning they were crushed. Many of the wet boxes had collapsed and items inside marked.

As it was so near Christmas, I had no choice but to use this service of collection, storage and delivery. I would not recommend this as it is extremely expensive and stressful."

As you were aware our diary was extremely busy when you were ready to book but we wanted to assist you and accommodate your move requirements to be in Kent before Christmas. The option to use the holdover service was offered to you and you agreed to this.

We were actually pleased to have been able to move you quicker even than planned. The difficulty with not having access to the garage as you mentioned, did make delivery more difficult and the fact that you had downsized. The crew did their best to deliver to the rooms until they were full.

The four removal men arrived at the agreed time and expertly loaded most of our goods in the 18 ton container, leaving us with overnight items. The following morning two men packed the remaining items into a small van and were able to leave by 9.45a.m. Fortunately we were able to collect the keys around 11.30a.m. so the unloading of the van was completed by 1.30p.m. The following morning two men arrived with the container and they worked extremely hard to unload it.

"At all times everyone was professional, obliging and approachable and we would have no hesitation in recommending Britannia Leatherbarrows. From our first approach to the company to the actual move our experience was positive. We sold in early July and due to various complications exchange did not take place until 21/12 with completion 17/1. During this time Claire kept in touch which reassured us."
