Move of multiple property items from London to Edinburgh. Negotiated with difficult unwieldy items of furniture from an apartment on the 14th floor. Negotiation of awkward parking conditions and multiple items requiring dismantled before effective removal.

"Blackhall Moving and Storage have just completed our transfer from London to Edinburgh. At every stage the team, including Owners/Management and the overall team, have gone beyond what required. Differing removal options, areas of complexity with valuable and awkward items were all identified and agreed. Communication at all times has been brilliant and helpful with regular updates and flexibility.

In particular the negotiation of stairs, lifts, large furniture items and detailed review of options in advance was very much appreciated. The actual delivery itself and receipt of all items was achieved faultlessly.

While anyone could give a 10/10 review in the is case truly deserved, we are delighted with the service provided."

From our first meeting with Blackhall to assess our move and provide a quotation, to unloading at our new home, Blackhall were so helpful at every step along the way. They were efficient and professional and their rates were competitive. They supplied us with boxes and other packing materials for us to pack. They packed large artwork and mirrors and lamps and plants. They arranged for parking suspension for their removal lorry where we lived for loading and where we moved to for unloading.

We moved from a 3 bed house to a 5 bed so it felt like a bit change for us. We also have a 9 month old to make the move more interesting. The interesting bit was that we were swapping houses.

"We were blown away by our movers. The packing service was the best money I think we spent on the move. On the first day everything was put into boxes apart from things we were going to use overnight. Only one very lovely person did all the pacing but the speed at which he moved at was incredible. They loaded some furniture onto the van and were all gone by early afternoon.
On the day of the move, they were fantastic and had everything packed by 11. They then disappeared whilst we did some cleaning and kept checking in on us about the keys. We realised we'd missed a bit and they came straight back and got it. They were ready and waiting when we got the keys. Another team turned up and the van was emptied an a flash. The hardest thing was directing them all quick enough. All beds reassembled and ready to go just 90 mins after getting in.
We are now unpacking boxes and have only had a few very tiny mishaps. I think these have mainly been our fault, like a box with some water in we use to make wet wipes wet was packed and a book got wet because of it. Considering the amount of stuff we had it was fantastic.
It made us feel very lucky we went with the right company when the person who we did the swap with us told us about all the issues she had wihr hers, including multiple breakages and generally very slow. So thank you so much for everything. You made the whole experience much less stressful than it could have been. I now have advice for any one I know who is moving, just pay for the packing service!"

Move all the house stuff from one flat to a new house.

"I would like to express my gratitude towards Blackhall Moving & Storage Ltd for their exceptional services. They assisted us in moving from our flat to our new home, arriving promptly and demonstrating remarkable efficiency, helpfulness, and organization. They dismantled our bed and other furniture in record time, kept us informed throughout the process, and reassembled everything at our new location. Additionally, they took great care to cover our sofa to prevent any damage and transferred our wardrobe clothes directly from one wardrobe to another. Vicki has also been very responsive through out the process and also provided us sufficient packing material (bubble wrap), tape and boxes. This was a bit complex as the team had to deal with 2 moves from our house. They were excellent, efficient, friendly, fast. I had an awkward lamp but they went out of their way to pack it safely.

Packing and emptying the household contents onto lorry, storage overnight and delivering contents to new address following day

"I can't remember the names of the 2 men that came to remove the contents of the house onto the lorry but they were very efficient and even helped me to pack what I and my wife never managed to get done they even arrived before the time when they were supposed to. The following day we never got the keys to the house until after 1 o'clock where we were met at the new house by the men from Blackhall Moving and Storing who had been joined by 3 of their colleagues and got the job done in extra quick time. A move from a flat to a house within Edinburgh city centre. The move involved moving into and out of somewhat awkwardly laid out historic buildings, and we also had some specific care instructions for high-value furniture and art. We were looking for a removals company that knew Edinburgh and its buildings well, as well as a firm that had a great local reputation.

"Recently we asked Blackhall to move us within Edinburgh. I can highly recommend them if you're looking for a removals company. An established, family-run business, they employ an experienced, conscientious and friendly removals team who handled our belongings with the utmost care. Simon and Vicki, who run the business, were approachable and helpful when it came to planning and specifying the detail of the move. All our requests (such as export wrapping, and dismantling of certain items) were followed to the letter. Bundy and the team worked tirelessly over the two days, and coped brilliantly with all the oddities and spatial challenges that come with historic Edinburgh buildings! No move is easy, but using Blackhall helped remove (!) a huge amount of the stress and hassle. Would heartily recommend."

"We had a really good experience with the Blackhall Moving & Storage team. The initial survey and quote was professional, stress free and very reasonable. "We used Blackhall for our recent move. This was the first time we've used a removal company and were unsure how best to go about deciding who to go with. We had a range of quotes but ended up deciding to go with Blackhall based on the initial call (straight-talking and answered all our questions) and their very reasonable quote (best price we received in the end).

I have to say, we were hugely impressed with the service and help we received. The lead up to our move was particularly stressful and uncertain (for unrelated reasons), so we were particularly appreciative of the help Vicki and Simon provided in their flexibility and ability to accommodate our changing plans in the lead up to the move. We found we were able to call at any time and have someone pick up and help with our questions, and email responses were also very timely and helpful. It was also good to be able to lock-in a price and move date without the need to pay a deposit upfront.

We made full use of the packing materials Blackhall offered (included at no extra cost as part of the service), which were delivered as promised - including an extra delivery at short notice when we were running low on boxes and didn't have much time left to pack. This was really appreciated.

At last minute, Vicki and the team were able to reschedule our pick-up date to a day earlier to help with a smoother move - which they took in their stride. On the pick-up day, they arrived right on time and were very efficient at packing the van, while also being really considerate and accommodating - they worked around us while we were finishing the last of the packing and clearing up. They had everything packed in the van in 3 hours!

They delivered 100+ miles away a couple of days later, again right on time. The delivery was as smooth as the pick-up, with the guys kindly putting everything in the right rooms as we pointed them in the right direction. The whole team were very friendly, polite and considerate of our home and all our belongings.

All in all, would highly recommend!"

"From getting initial quotes to the moving process, the communication from Blackhall was great. We were given quotes quickly and got a breakdown of different options to allow us to make the best decision.
Vicki Munro was particularly great in guiding us through the process and was helpful when we were faced with a last minute delay.

The team were efficient and all our items reached the new property as they left.
The team also build the beds and wardrobes back up for us which was a huge help.

We had changes to the original plan, as the first house purchase did not conclude. We had planned to only have storage facilities for around two weeks, however this changed to around 4 months,

"This was not a problem for Blackhall, they were lovely and assured us it was not a problem for them to continue with storage.
Everything was handled so professionally, which was such a big help for us at a very stressful time.Perfect service from start to finish. All members of staff were polite & friendly, all answered every concern/question immediately.
Would highly recommend.

Moved from upper villa to detached house. Usual family household furniture, digital piano, garden equipment.

"I received quotes from a few removal companies and Blackhall came out most favourably in terms of value for money and professional, personable attitude.
Received plenty of packing materials well in advance on a day that suited.
Guys were punctual and very efficient with both loading and unloading and dismantled/rebuild beds/piano etc.
There was a delay with exchange of keys which meant a £100 per hour charge until access to property, hence overall cost was more. These terms were laid out in the quote so I knew there’d be potential cost increases."
