Moving house can be one of the most stressful times, so let Archers help you.

We are a family business with over 100 years experience in household and commercial removals and will do our best to ensure that the day of your move is a pleasant experience.

We believe that from the moment you contact us for a free quote, to completion of your removal, you will not find a more professional and friendly company.

We specialise in household and office removals, with 800 to 2000 cubic foot capacity vehicles available. We can also provide a full packing service, should you require it, or you may prefer to pack everything yourselves using our containers and materials.

As an independent removal and haulage specialist, we offer the highest standards and flexibility to ensure that your removal is a smooth one. Just let us know when you want to move and what you need moving, and we will let you have a quotation as soon as we can.

Move was a short distance, downsizing. I packed my own boxes. Some special fragile furniture which was treated with respect. On the day there were 2 vans and 5 shifters!

"They were very quick and efficient at loading (though my careful planning of boxes for each room was mixed up as the boxes were packed in most efficient way for the vans). Once at new place I was in great demand from the 5 shifters as to what went where - rather overwhelming! But they got everything in safely and respectfully. As the boxes came off last they were put into the dining room and its been very difficult for me to drag them to the correct rooms but apart from the vital box of laptop and paperwork being buried and "lost" for a few days, nothing that won't be managed gradually.

Excellent service, very professional from start to finish. Felt my personal situation was acknowledged and my frailties accepted. The 5 removers were polite and respected and careful. The only thing I would say was that being on my own it was overwhelming when 5 people were asking me where to put furniture all at once and I ended up with a room full of boxes which should have been in other rooms and due to my personal weakness and poor health its been a bit of a struggle. However they were very good at managing the furniture into place and I cannot fault them.
I would (and have) recommend them to friends and family."

Relocation 10 miles within the county, from a 5 bed detached/double garage to a 4 bed detached/single garage. The move included a large quantity of fragile and valuable collectables which require particular care and handling, several terms of soft-wood painted furniture which again required protection to surfaces whilst in transit/handling. This was a self-pack with the exception of large items/pictures which Archer''s took care of. The majority of cartons for packing were provided new by Archers.

"We canvassed 4 removal companies and chose PW Archers. Mr Geoff Archer exuded confidence and reassurance during the quotation period and instantly provided solutions to any potential complication - this was not the case with the other companies who simply highlighted problems.

The quotation was not the cheapest but taking into account the above, we felt this was the strongest tender for us.

Packing boxes, good quality tape, wrapping and portable wardrobes were all provided promptly and on completion collected without delay.

On pre-move day the crews arrived punctually, the crew supervisor made his assessment and very quickly the team set to work promptly, loading the vehicle in a logical manner taking care of all items. All of our carpets were covered within protective mats. Furniture/picture/glass nature were protected with heavy duty blankets, card etc. and all matresses were bagged.

On completion day, despite late release of keys and poor (wet) weather, the crew, plus additional teams members, set to work unloading the 2 lorries - again all carpets and floorings were covered with protective mats. Our brand new fresh tarmac drive was protected from the steel ramp.

The core crew team over the 2 day period were great - friendly, cheerful, efficient and professional and are a credit to PW Archer. Some of the extra team members assigned to assist with the unload were not quite as cheerful, having already been on other jobs that day! Even tea/coffee and donuts did not seem to raise their spirits.

Our overall experience with PW Archer Removals was first class. Moving house is recognised as a very stressful event and Archers helped to make this process more palatable and eased the stress from us. Everyone worked very hard to ensure a smooth transition and to keep us reassured throughout the 2 day process. We would highly recommend PW Archers."

North Yorks - Stafs. House to Bungalow but similar footape Large garage with above average contents. Decided in view of 10 mile trip to move all contents to Cheddle as the 'trip' only 1/4 mile! Archers were very understanding and we managed to work out a 2 day move rather than 3 and still avoid the legal hold up pm
 

"Excellent service in every way. Although a small company the organisation was first-class. Everything arrived safely I was offloaded in quick time due to extra staff in the back-up vehicle.
Our Victorian wall clock was damaged but has been repaired. It transpired that a poor spotweld failed due to vibration etc.
The cost was under £50 and we don't wish to make a claim.

A move of only 9 miles, but a number of items of very heavy furniture and some 300 boxes, some of which were extremely weighty.
 

"Totally excellent! one removal van arrived the day previous to completion, loading the majority of items, leaving a smaller number to be loaded the next day for which the completion time had to be 12 noon.
On the day of completion, the second removal van arrived to load at 9.00am, and we were parked outside the new property within two hours, awaiting solicitors 'authorization of release of new keys'.
