We moved from Woodlaithes/Sunnyside to Bawtry.

"Brilliant from start to finish!

This company have been trading years the name Appleyards Brittania is well known.

First visit from Laura was positive, and we had a quote within days.
We didn't get anymore quotes because they were local. It came to booking a day and when it was confirmed we payed in full as the contract stipulated.

Moving day came, and this was done over two days. This took the stress out of the whole move, they took 80% of our possessions the day before and the rest on the day.

We got in the new house around 2:30pm, unloading they had another two men to make it four. Their manners were impeccable from the off."

We were moving from storage units in Hull to our house in France. Our house is on a small road, so the lads did a pre delivery visit with the van to ensure it was OK before they arrived with furniture. Our van was 12m long. Might not be the cheapest option, but it was worth paying a little bit more for the professional service we received. Highly recommended them.

"The lads arrived at our storage unit on time, they were extremely friendly, could not do more for us, they loaded everything onto the Van with care and consideration for items they were carrying, everything was stacked perfectly.

They took their time and did not put any pressure on us to rush, we had 3 storage units in total and had to keep going between each unit to get the larger items out first, we discussed which items were going next, The whole loading process went very smoothly. We were then given copies of everything that had been put on to the Van and said we will see you in a few days in France.

The Van arrived on time in France. Everything was still securely packed and in place, we then spent 2 half days unloading into our house. Because of the heat wave 43 degrees in france we took time unloading. Overall this was the easiest Part of moving to France."

House move from UK to France

"Britannia Appleyard were recommended to us by a friend who had moved from UK to France the previous year.

The service from them from start to finish has been absolutely outstanding. They are a thoroughly professional but traditional firm who are easy to contact and respond immediately. Their experience with moving furniture and vehicles was invaluable and made a very stressful move extremely straightforward.

David was at the end of the phone for any questions and advice we needed. Their flexibility when our moving date changed 3 times was excellent and appeared to be no trouble. The lads that came to remove our furniture over 2 days were fantastic and worked like trojans.

When they unpacked our stuff in France in 38 degrees, they worked non stop and offered to help move other items if we needed, a service over and above what we expected.

We cannot thank David and his team enough for the huge lengths they went to in making this move as stress free as possible. A thank you to Ruby for our many phone calls. And a huge thanks to James, Steve and Dan who took such great care of all our stuff!"

The company moved me from one area to another. They came to my original home, packed everything, and moved me to my new address. The people who came were very professional and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. And they were very respectful and considerate of my guide dog.

"My initial telephone call with the company was very professionally handled, and the information given to me was easy to understand. I was advised of all procedures, and some allowances were made for the fact that due to my being blind, I wasn’t able to access all of the information. The company helped through this with ease. Pre-packing all your home belongings is never as completed as you think. Large garden statues and other items where my main concern. In general though, moving exposes several missed areas.

Smooth move compared to some stories I have heard. The staff worked quickly and together. Sometimes seemed too quick and lost sight of some things. Some bags were taken without my knowing. They were open and for specific things.
 

"All 3 staff represented the company very well. You could tell they understood all aspects of their role . They were friendly, chatty, respectful. Made a real fuss of my mum who is 80 which was lovely. They were punctual in correct uniform. This is the first time I have done such a big move and will recommend your company to anyone in a situation requiring removals. Ruby was also responsive personable and knowledgeable. My move was from a 3 bedroomed semi detached to 3 bedroomed bungalow. I did not require all the furniture from the house moving but as this house had been the family home for over 60 years there were a lot of possessions. The furniture included a bed and large wardrobe which both required disassembly at the house and reassembling at the bungalow. This was carried out successfully by the team without any fuss. The service I selected included the team to pack all the breakable items whilst I did the rest of the items. All the breakables were transported with no breakages.

"I had a meeting at my house with Laura Ogram who works for Britannia Appleyard as a surveyor. Laura arrived at the agreed time and was friendly and informative. She talked me through the various services on offer. In turn I walked her through the house indicating the major items which would require moving. Laura promised I would receive a quote within 24 hours, this was achieved. I chose the service which included the packing of breakable items by the removers.

My next contact was with Ruby Locking to agree a removal date. She explained that the removal team would come over 2 consecutive days. The first day to pack breakables and the 2nd day being removal day. Ruby was prompt with her information and very easy to deal with.

On the first day a team of 3 men arrived at the appointed time to pack breakables and begin loading the removal lorry. On the second day 2 of the men arrived at the appointed time to complete the loading. At all times the team were respectful of my property and took great care in moving it. They were friendly, helpful and took care to place everything where I wanted it to go. Everything was done in a relaxed manner with a bit of humour which made what might have been a very stressful day for me very straightforward."

We used Britannia to move from Chesterfield to Italy. As most of our belongings were already packed, David did a video call with us to determine the quote.

"We used Britannia to move from Chesterfield to Italy. The paperwork for Italy was very complicated but with the help of Ruby, David & Vittorio we managed to get everything sorted. Right from the beginning the service and help has been amazing. All our belongings were already packed but we did have a bed and complicated wardrobe to disassemble/reassemble which we decided to leave to the experts. David was in constant communication with us throughout the process, calling or texting to keep things moving and managed to get everything collected and delivered within 2 weeks. On the Italian side, Vittorio helped us greatly with the paperwork and arrived, on time, with a hard working team who quickly got all our furniture into the apartment and had everything reassembled within 4 hours. I would highly recommend using the South Yorkshire team, not only was the price the most competitive but the customer service and whole process was made to seem simple, even when it wasn’t."
