Smooth move compared to some stories I have heard. The staff worked quickly and together. Sometimes seemed too quick and lost sight of some things. Some bags were taken without my knowing. They were open and for specific things.

My move was from a 3 bedroomed semi detached to 3 bedroomed bungalow. I did not require all the furniture from the house moving but as this house had been the family home for over 60 years there were a lot of possessions. The furniture included a bed and large wardrobe which both required disassembly at the house and reassembling at the bungalow. This was carried out successfully by the team without any fuss. The service I selected included the team to pack all the breakable items whilst I did the rest of the items. All the breakables were transported with no breakages.

"I had a meeting at my house with Laura Ogram who works for Britannia Appleyard as a surveyor. Laura arrived at the agreed time and was friendly and informative. She talked me through the various services on offer. In turn I walked her through the house indicating the major items which would require moving. Laura promised I would receive a quote within 24 hours, this was achieved. I chose the service which included the packing of breakable items by the removers.

My next contact was with Ruby Locking to agree a removal date. She explained that the removal team would come over 2 consecutive days. The first day to pack breakables and the 2nd day being removal day. Ruby was prompt with her information and very easy to deal with.

On the first day a team of 3 men arrived at the appointed time to pack breakables and begin loading the removal lorry. On the second day 2 of the men arrived at the appointed time to complete the loading. At all times the team were respectful of my property and took great care in moving it. They were friendly, helpful and took care to place everything where I wanted it to go. Everything was done in a relaxed manner with a bit of humour which made what might have been a very stressful day for me very straightforward."

They managed to get a super king size bed up a difficult staircase .
They moved everything into rooms that we asked them to .
Honestly worth every penny my entire house and garden went into one van in one seamless journey.

We used Britannia to move from Chesterfield to Italy. As most of our belongings were already packed, David did a video call with us to determine the quote.

"We used Britannia to move from Chesterfield to Italy. The paperwork for Italy was very complicated but with the help of Ruby, David & Vittorio we managed to get everything sorted. Right from the beginning the service and help has been amazing. All our belongings were already packed but we did have a bed and complicated wardrobe to disassemble/reassemble which we decided to leave to the experts. David was in constant communication with us throughout the process, calling or texting to keep things moving and managed to get everything collected and delivered within 2 weeks. On the Italian side, Vittorio helped us greatly with the paperwork and arrived, on time, with a hard working team who quickly got all our furniture into the apartment and had everything reassembled within 4 hours. I would highly recommend using the South Yorkshire team, not only was the price the most competitive but the customer service and whole process was made to seem simple, even when it wasn’t."

This was a move from a property with all furniture/belongings going into storage for an indefinite period, due to a delay in the completion date for the new property.

"This was my fourth time using Britannia Appleyards (Rotherham) - they have handled all my house moves in the last couple of decades, including a relocation within the UK. I cannot fault their service - everyone from the person providing the quote, the office staff, and the removals team themselves are a pleasure to work with and deliver on their promises.
After getting a comparative quote for this house move, Britannia Appleyards were the most cost effective and competitive.
They delivered a supply of boxes and packaging supplies as I chose to pack myself, and these were provided promptly when I was suddenly advised that the move from the previous property was going to be within a week.
They were happy to be flexible regarding the amount of time I would need the furniture and belongings to remain in storage until my new house was available, and even tried to find ways to reduce the storage costs.
The removals team on both moving days were prompt to arrive, and friendly and helpful throughout. All items that I wasn’t able to pack (eg mirrors, pictures etc) were carefully packaged by the team.

This was a one-off collect & deliver from a workshop to my home. Moving a very old, and heavy upright piano was no problem for the two guys who were tasked with this job.

"Satisfactory delivery. This firm was used by my vicar and his recommendation was perfect. Cheerful, friendly staff who take great care of your possessions as if they were their own.

Move from a large 4 bedroom detached house to three individual addresses including the need for temporary storage for 2 addresses.

"David and his team were excellent. From the initial booking, which was very short notice to final property delivery. The team keep us up to date at all times.

All team members we’re curious and polite, nothing was too much trouble and they understood there task quickly and efficiently.


Regarding our final property delivery, this was very much in the centre of a city centre with parking restrictions. The team arrived at 6:30 on mass to ensure re the delivery could be completed before parting restrictions kick in. I cannot recommend David and his team highly enough."

Britannia Lanes of Devon referred me to Britannia Appleyards of South Yorkshire. The service and quote I requested from Appleyards was to collect a small consignment in storage in western France to my home in Yorkshire. David informed me precisely of the necessary paperwork to prepare as I was importing inherited furniture and personal goods. Once the file was complete, David gave me a date for collection then later an ETA for delivery to my address. Everything went extremely smoothly; the crew of two were friendly, professional and made themselves available while on the road in France providing information. The same crew delivery the consignment. Again, all went perfectly well. Thank you to the team.

"Having used Britannia Lanes of Devon on several occasions, I followed their recommendation blind-folded. Britannia Appleyards of South Yorkshire did not disappoint. From my first telephone contact to the delivery of my smallish consignment, each step was easy, bringing the right information and help when needed. Calls were returned, emails answered and relevant advice given. My consignment was duly collected from France and delivered to my address in Yorkshire with prior information regarding date and time provided.
