We moved a distance of some 70 Miles from Bradford West Yorkshire to Scarborough North Yorkshire on 31st August 2022. The move not only involved the contents of the House but also included contents from a Large Engineering Workshop containing Machinery and Equipment. The move involved Removal and Storage which covered 2 Days. It was all completed with perfect timing and efficiency .

"Other parties involved in the Completion of the House Sale kept changing the moving date and on contacting Pickersgill's to alert them to this they were ever so obliging in changing their schedules to accommodate us and arranging personnel to complete the move on time. Everything went perfectly and with efficiency on the actual day due to a Good Team who were very organized.
We would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

Removal from one house into storage and then removal from storage into another house.

"I had asked for three quotes from different companies and in the end two were given. To be honest I could have chosen the other quote given, but I could not tie in relevant storage facilities which I needed. If you need storage it makes sense to choose a company that provides both removals and storage.

The workers who cam to remove the furniture and place it into storage were excellent and very efficient which was very reassuring.

Although I haven't answered the questions on insurance and claims etc. These conversations happened almost eighteen months ago therefore I couldn't guarantee exactly what had been discussed, however the communication I had through Ciaran and Karen in the office gave me total reassurance that if there were any issues they would be dealt with.

The invoices were sent each month and when I did need to ask any questions all answered were forthcoming.
Once I had a date for removal from storage it was very easy to organise delivery to my new address.
The workers at that stage were just as efficient as the first team and the job was finished with no issues.

I would happily recommend George Pickersgill as a company and all the workers I dealt with were very professional, personable and efficient."

"The office staff sorted the quote and all the paperwork quickly and explained the contact
The removal man turned up on time and were polite and worked cleanly and quickly. Everything was protected and packed lnto storage containers.The company were helpful as some of the dates kept changing and worked with us. The delivery went off perfectly . A straightforward house move.

"Everything went smoothly apart from the people moving out of the house I'd bought were late, which caused a delay. So I felt sorry for your guys for that. They were very gracious about it though.

Your movers were phenomenal from start to finish – very efficient, polite, and also had great senses of humour, which is always good especially on such a stressful day. They gave a lot of helpful advice, knew exactly what they were doing, and really did make the day actually quite enjoyable! Couldn't have been happier. Thank you very much."

Boxes delivered very promptly to aid our packing up in advance.

"On the day, the removers were on time, very efficient in loading furniture and boxes in the van and we were ready to leave by mid morning. Unfortunately our keys at the other end were not available until very late in the day, but the removers never showed any frustration or annoyance and unpacked us just as efficiently in a very quick time and made the bed up etc being polite and asking where everything was wanted. Very happy with the service."

This was a move for my elderly father from Lincoln to Yorkshire. It was a two day move and the logistics were not easy, mainly as my father has dementia so found it quite confusing.

"There is a reason I asked George Pickersgill to move my father from his old house into his new house -- I had been incredibly happy with the service they provided my family when we moved house around 5 years ago and have been recommending them ever since.

From my initial enquiry to Karen, my constant changes of dates and items of furniture to be moved, delivery of boxes, right until the day of the move and then the moving in day the whole team were professional, reassuring, caring, considerate and the communication was brilliant. The removals team were respectful and considerate of my father who has dementia and was quite confused on the day.

I continue to recommend George Pickersgill to anyone looking for a removals service."

Moving from a bungalow on the end of a 200 meter track not wide enough turning point for a large van. So had to use 2 smaller vans.

"Everything was perfect until we arrived at our new house. We had problems with the money transfer and were unable to gain access. They unloaded the garden furniture and plants and returned next morning after we had sorted money out at local bank. Couldn't thank them enough. Very good bunch of lads. "Booking George Pickersgill’s was very easy. Karen was very helpful and explained the process. They were very thorough in planning for such things as access and lorry size. We packed ourselves, but had quite a lot of large delicate furniture which was very well taken care of. No items were broken or damaged. They turned up when they said they would and the move ran very smoothly. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient and worked extremely hard on a very hot day. All furniture was placed in the correct rooms and in the correct place. The whole process ran as they predicted it would - very smoothly!"

Moved from my house in Bingley to Menston were it was to be stored until my renovation were finished.

"Mostly satisfied but I've found damaged items later due to boxes been dropped, the most expensive been a computer where the casin is smashed.

The moving guys worked very hard though and were very professional it's just sad about the couple of brakages I found so far..."

We were concerned to read this and tried to contact the customer immediately but unfortunately haven’t heard back from them. To my knowledge, we weren’t made aware of any damages and would have liked the opportunity to put this right for them. We have adequate insurance and although we are professional and take every care of our customers belongings, the odd damage can happen, we only ask for these to be brought to our attention within 7 days of removal as per our terms & conditions and they will be looked into immediately.

The whole move from start to finish was excellent, I was down sizing from a 3 bed semi to a 2 bed mid town house and what I thought was going to be a nightmare actually went really smoothly, all my larger furniture was dismantled without any hitches, even my plant pots which I had totally forgotten about were transported on the day. We had to wait until late afternoon on a Friday before I got the keys but once we were in everything was moved in and put back together in no time, even my washing machine was plumbed back in although it turned out they got the pipes/taps the wrong way round!!

"I was given a week to move and went into panic, but once I had spoken to Ciaran, everything was made easy for me and far less stressful than I thought having not moved in 28 years I was a bit of a headless chicken! I was really put at ease and the whole process couldn’t have been easier, they even took some old furniture the charity shop wouldn’t take and disposed of it for me. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service they provided it was very professional and the team all worked well together on the day being super fast and efficient."

House move from Bradford, storage and then re-deliver to North Yorkshire.

"Hired George Pickersgill to move my house contents, store and then deliver once the new house had completed.

From the office staff through to the lads who did the heavy lifting, everything went smoothly. Even to the point of once realising the deadline to move out was 2pm, having only found out a couple of hours beforehand, they sent extra men to complete the task.

The second part of the job to deliver to the new address went equally well. Having to limited access, they parked the larger vehicle along the lane and transferred the contents to smaller vehicles.

Very courteous staff, with respect for my family and the contents they were moving. Couldn't fault them."

Move for a family of 4 from a 3 bed semi detached house to a 4 bed 3 storey house.

"The lady who I spoke to in the office was so helpful and friendly think this was Karen. She really explained everything and reassured me during a stressful time.

The 3 lads that came were all so friendly and professional and did an excellent job. They were very careful with all our furniture and ensured that they placed this in the right room and right place.(I can't remember their names sorry!)


The only negative thing was that the van broke down when we got to our new property, and this blocked in 2 of our new neighbours......slightly embarrassing!! Think the clutch had burnt out! The lads stayed calm under pressure though and managed to resolve this!
