Ours was a move to storage, followed by more than 2 years building a house on the West Coast of Scotland. The subsequent shift of our belongings from storage to site was made more interesting because the ‘site’ was still very much that.....a building site.

"Helpful, courteous, punctual and prepared to communicate. From our perspective, this all worked well on the basis of ‘we pay when you ask’ and ‘you deliver what and when you say’. No confusing messaging, no unnecessary sales pitch, just the job as required.

The bonus for us, on both collection and delivery was the attitude of the folk doing the real work of moving. Interesting, interested.....but also enjoyable just to talk to."

Move from house in February into store for three and a half months. Large number of books, paintings and crockery to pack and store. Slight downsize to new house.

"We were very impressed with the teams who came to pack and upload our things to store and then to move our things into our new house. Both teams were very pleasant, well mannered, very careful and very helpful. They got on with the job skilfully, efficiently and very carefully. We were extremely impressed with the care taken, every last breakable item was carefully packed and stored. On unpacking nothing was damaged or broken. When unpacking the team were very obliging to move furniture to where we wanted it to be and to move it again if we decided to move it somewhere else.
All in all the experience was very positive and throughout we felt confident that all our possessions were being well looked after. Thankyou for your care."

Downsizing! Move from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom first floor flat. Massive downsizing but I had culled a lot of items prior to the move day.

"The move took place over 2 days. One to move out and one to travel and move in. The whole team was polite, efficient, friendly and helpful. I had used Britannia Whitby Oliver once before so had first hand experience of their efficiency and care. The team just got on with the job. I used the packing service and I am so glad I did. It would have taken me weeks and would have been nowhere as safely packed as the job the team did. When delivering the furniture the team referred to me before placing the furniture and once or twice I got it wrong but they moved the items without any complaints.
I think the fact that I have used this firm twice now speaks for itself. I would definitely recommend them."

Move within York from a 3 bedroom semidetached to a 3 bedroom bungalow. Packing and part loading on day 1; move completed on day 2.

"The man that visited my house to do the quotation was polite and discrete. He took detailed notes of all the contents of my house, garage and garden to ensure the right sized vehicle and packing materials were available and to avoid any possible hitches. Packing and loading on day 1 was done by a 3-man team all of whom were polite, considerate, cheerful and worked as quickly as possible without causing stress.The washing machine was disconnected for me ready for the move. On day two, two of the original team returned to finish packing and loading and all work was completed in good time for me to clean the house for my buyers while I waited for the solicitor to call to confirm completion had taken place. They left with my belongings and we agreed I would call once completion was confirmed. Before I arrived at the new property they had already (with my agreement) unloaded the garden furniture, pots and ornaments placing them in points of the garden that I would have chosen myself. When I arrived they unloaded the rest of my belongings and reassembled my beds.Two more men turned up to help finish the work which they did my mid-afternoon. They plumbed in my washing machine for me and connected the tumble dryer to the vent in the garage. I provided tea, coffee and biscuits and tipped all the crew. Only a few minor damages; chip to the side of my desk, some light scratches on a table and a dent in an old metal bin but nothing significant. No items were broken and all had been carefully packed. I was sad to see them leave as the choice to move was difficult after 22 years at my old house but it was time to start again. I would recommend Britannia to others."

"A very helpful set of people who worked hard and tirelessly to make our move as un-stressful as possible. Clear from the start about the scale and likely costs, they were both hugely helpful but also good-humoured both in clearing our house and in unpacking at the other end. Our more delicate items were treated with care, in particular several paintings, and the piano was moved with a speed and ease that I would scarcely have thought possible. It's my firm hope that we won't be moving again for some time, but if we do I'd certainly use Britannia Olivers again."

I moved from York to Norwich (nearly 200 miles). I booked a complete packing service with loading and delivering, which took three days in all.

"The entire service was absolutely excellent. All aspects from initial quotation at the sale house through to driving the empty vehicle away from the purchase house were handled entirely professionally - efficient, clear, fuss-free and completely competent. And at the time of the actual move which took three days, the crew were everything one could hope for at such a stressful time. They were experienced, punctual, calm, well-organised,careful,helpful and entirely cheerful even though I'm sure some things drove them mad. And not a single breakage or loss! I wouldn't hesitate to employ you again should I have the opportunity and I would like to thank you all for your part in a very successful move."

"The team arrived just before 08.30, and did a first class job in loading the lorry quickly, efficiently and with care. The men were friendly, polite and very professional. We were all loaded up by 11.30, and they were waiting for me when I retuned from picking up the keys for our new property. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they went "over and above" to make sure that everything smoothly. We would certainly recommend you to anyone we know that are thinking of moving."

Move from North Yorkshire to Wiltshire. Move involved moving a disabled person and all the kit & equipment, timing was an important issue since most of kit was needed on day of move to exit the house. This needed a great degree of coordination and understanding. No problem to these guys, simples to them!!

4 bed house to 3 storey 4 bed townhouse. main challenges were 2 large sofas to get into townhouse over 1st floor balcony and thru french windows...NO PROBLEM for your team. we paid for packing and it was done very well...no damage or breakages at all.

We moved from East Yorkshire to Swindon on 8/9 November the staff were good in Yorkshire but in Swindon we were a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of boxes with only three staff,thank you for help.

This was the first time we have moved house in 24yrs and we knew it would be stressful but not as bad as it was. The staff at Britannia were brilliant from the original quote to the final move. Due to circumstances we had to move out of our old house and place all our goods , furniture etc into storage with Britannia originally for 3 weeks.

"The removal staff on the day were excellent, friendly and knew exactly what they were doing and continually asked us if they were unsure what needed to go in which storage box.
Unfortunately it rained heavily on this day and my wife was worried items would get damp and damaged through being In storage when damp..... There was no need to worry though.
Due to further work having to be carried out at our new house we had to keep putting back our move in date and again Gary at Britannia was wonderful re-booking provisional dates on several occasions and keeping us fully updated and checking a week or so before if we would be actually be moving on the booked date.
Nothing was to much for him and he was very professional throughout.
After a period of 13 weeks we finally moved in to our new house and again the removals lads were brilliant from start to finish. How they managed to get some of the furniture up the narrow staircase I don't know.
All I can say is thank you to all staff involved at Britannia who made our move as easy as it could be and I would definitely recommend them to anyone moving house"

This was a house move across the UK for a family. Britannia did an incredible job, everything was in and out of the lorry in record time and in perfect condition. They were clean, friendly and no object was a problem.

"Britannia did an excellent job moving my house from York to Oxford. The team were first class and professional. They arrived exactly when the should and worked hard to get the house emptied. They managed to do that ahead of schedule. The next day they arrived about 10 mins ahead of schedule and were ready and waiting when the keys arrived. They efficiently unpacked the lorry and had everything in the right place. Overall excellent job and a really nice and helpful crew."
