Trading Standards - Dumfries and Galloway

The Dumfries and Galloway Trusted Trader Scheme is a local business partnership aimed at increasing consumer confidence, supporting local businesses, and helping protect people from doorstep crime. The scheme is operated by Dumfries and Galloway Council Trading Standards Service. Businesses signing up to the scheme must abide by certain terms and conditions which reflect their responsible and sensible approach to the way they trade and conduct their business.

A major feature of the scheme is customer feedback which is published on an online database maintained by an independent third party, Referenceline Ltd.

Member firms shall be responsible for their work and Dumfries and Galloway Council accepts no liability for any work done.

Whitegoods Trade Association

Whitegoods Trade Association

The Whitegoods Trade Association is the largest trade association in the UK dedicated solely to repairers of large domestic appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers etc. Our association works on trying to make the industry better for independent appliance repairers working with manufacturers, work providers, press and various government bodies to help them understand the issues faced by our industry.

In doing so, the WTA also make it easier for the general public to find, and importantly, recognise a good and reputable appliance repair company from one simple fact, that they are members of the WTA. Members adhere to a strict Code of Practice to ensure that people using our members are satisfied with the service that they receive and unlike most other services, ours is monitored by the appliance repair industry.
