British Association of Removers

The British Association of Removers operates an approved code under the Approved Code Scheme operated by the Trading Standards Institute. While the Approved Code Scheme was originally launched by the OFT, management was transferred to the Consumer Code Approval Board (CCAB) in 2013. As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), the CCAB was set-up to independently oversee the direction of the Scheme (with advice and scrutiny from the Code Sponsor Panel). However, the day-to-day running of the Scheme is handled entirely by the staff of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI).

BSI Kitemark

The Kitemark is a registered certification mark owned and awarded by BSI. As the first product and service quality mark to be established in the UK, it was originally developed by the British Standards Institution.

The Kitemark is recognised and trusted by over 88% of the UK population and, of those who recognise it, 93% claimed products with a Kitemark were safer while 91% felt they would be better quality.
